we were actually discussing Apophrecator on another thread (I couldn't find it again) where I'd thought that Apopr. would look like the 'Scorpian King' from the movie, 'Mummy Returns' (half scorpian, half "The Rock") which was badly computergraphically generated for the scence between him & Brendon Fraiser.

I've started my food series on the thread for 'New game-Defacing images' in the Stargate General discussion. So far there I have 'apophigetti', 'gatie-O's', and 'snake soup' There are some really great photos there that other people have done.

Is that one of those threads that have HUNDREDS of posts in them?
I never really read the long threads if I haven't joined in early on, but for you Skoon I'll have a look (I really wanna see apophigetti!):D :D

Great pictures Skoon m'luv!:D

Apophrecator pic.

Skoon it is a really gret picture! You just need more red on the lego parts.... remember Apophis' new chain mail?

Hi all, glad you liked my pics, thanx to those who looked just for me. I moved to Richmond yesterday but couldn't bring my computer 'til next week (not enough space in the car. I had to first take the other essentials, i.e. my VCR & DVD so I can watch my Stargate Vids & DVDs) so I can't post anymore of my food series yet. Only have access to my computer at work at the mo. Stay tuned though. For those who haven't ventured into that thread because of it's length, the conversation isn't all that important (no ofence intended to those who wrote there), but search for all the jpegs & click on them. The pics are great, you'll laugh so hard your tummy will hurt.

I can be witness to that! I feared my sides may split at a few points! :D :D

Just to back track a little, I watch an episode with Cronus in the other day, he wasn't that back of a character.
I wonder if they'll bring more Greek characters in. I love Egyptian history, but Greek is my passion.
Plus, it would give the writers more characters and stories to write with.

Well finally! Someone else who actually thought the character of Cronos had something. Thanks Nic. I was beginning to feel as though I was living in a desert, surrounded by rabid SG1 fans. His character was the first one that made me sit up and really take notice of the show, he hovered at the edge of my consciouness long after the episode had ended.

That's called 'good acting'. He was an attractively oily, mean, menacing creature, who made me really think about the Goa'uld as something rather formidable. His calm, but utter disregard for everything human spoke volumes. In comparison, the rest of them looked like jokes, the only other one who came close to giving me those feelings in the show was Hathor, and in the film, Ra. the rest are a complete joke.

But so far, in amongst all of the SG1 and Apophis hysteria, characters like him haven't stood a chance. And they killed him off, which was singularly the stupidest thing they could have done.

But then maybe Ron Halder had commitments which precluded him from taking on a regular spot, and maybe he was sensible enough not to want to be typecast. So in many ways, although I miss the character of Cronos, I applaud the actor for being sensible about his career.

;)

Yeah, he did have this calm sort of nature (he seemed to smile... or grin! alot!) That made me feel rather uneasy.

If a creature like that was as influential and old as Teal'c himself admitted in Fair Game, then he would be both calm and powerful, and smiling without letting it reach your eyes can be a very good way of disempowering someone else. Because one normally associates smiling with friendliness. Cronos had a charming, cold smile, but he wasn't anyone's friend. Even when he smiled at his own staff, his eyes stayed calm and cold.

Under normal conditions, if he was smiling genuinely, it would probaby be a very mischievous smile, and that just makes the contrast all the more unsettling.

All of this made the character rock in my eyes...

The produers certainly know how to pick good actors for all the roles on Stargate SG-1!

I second that JSC:D

To be honest, I haven't seen a gouald or any character on the show that really scared me. Not like the Borg on ST-NG! Just the concept of them was frightening!

Yep, the borg scared me in the ST-NG, but they'd lot it by Voyager.
I mean, Kes's pixie ears and short hair cut was more scarey than the whole of the collective!;) :D
