I'm quietly hoping that Joe will follow the same path as the rest of Sam's potential romances. I really don't like him. Hopefully something bad will happen to him (gee, that sounds a bit mean huh? I can't help it he's so sleezy). :laugh2:

The preview also shows a hologram of what appears to be a planet -- perhaps showing the Aschen's original proposal of the Jupiter Ignition Project, in which the Aschen were working with Earth to convert Jupiter into a star."

That just dosn't sit right with me. I can't imagine any romance between these two. Maybe I'm biased because I think I prefere S/J at heart in the future, but I didn't even pick up on any romantic feelings in 2010. It is going to take alot to make me believe that she could have any feelings for that slimy weasel.

i keep thinking her hard decision is going to be joe arguing for the alliance, jack obviously against it...which way will she go?
it's obvious from 2010 which way she chose before...and i'm guessing she has enough pull with hammy if she backs up jack's bad feelings hammy will at least give them the benefit of the doubt.

What I keep wondering though is how are they going to meet the Aschen since Hammond ordered the addy to be deleted from the dialing computer? Do they meet them on another nuetral planet? and how does Joe get involved in the first place?
There are alot of interesting questions and paths to follow in this ep. I'm sure we'll be in for a good one. All I can say is that I hope they listen to Jack.

maybe the aschen contact them. you guys recall all those ancient myths? how there's a prophecy say that a son will kill his father. so the father sends his son away to be killed, of course the kid survives and shows up in 20 years to kill his father, who he doean't know is his rather...sort of one of those the more you try to keep it from happening the more likely it is that it will happen situations.
maybe they're 'fated' to meet the aschen. and if they didnt' last year then they will this year. and if the aschen are willing to share tech, the decision is going to be even harder now that they know the goauld just might have phase shifting weapons...

synopsis for the showtimless
starts out with sg-1 returnign. seems on the planet Volia they ran into this race that is willing to share all these neat toys for just some gate addys....and the name of the race...you guessed it the aschen
cue open
(ooh coffee....i hope you caught the beginning of this one cause t-man has the suit on again...and it still looks great on him )
in the briefing room,
they're talking about all the stuff these folks want, the ambassador from earth is coming, sam & jack are to aid him (yep, joe faxon) while danny and teal'c gather info from the volians, the inhabitants of the planet.
joe shows up in this suit, yep, goes through the gate in a suit and tie, really cute scene,
they meet the aschen, who refuse to give the coordinates of their home world. danny & tealc go off to search for clues while sam, jack and joe go up to the harvester(a big honkin ship that harvests the grain grown...wondered how they send the grain to ashcen...they make the gate go horizotal on these neat hydrolic like things...really cool, then they jsut drop the grain through)
anywho, back on earth hammy is suspicious, and since a dhd-less gate, like is on volian, is limited to a 300 light year radius(without a dhd to compensate for stellar drift a dhd-less gate can only dial out to other gates with in 300 light years) the computer is working on extrapolating the ashcne home world.
negotiations are going nice, really nice. the aschen will give us what we want, and all they want are addresses.
sam, J & J come back, joe goes off to brief the prez while s & jack realize danny & t-man are still on the plnaet.
turns out the boys found a buried city which they are exploring. they find the local govt building and find some old news papers. danny tries to read them (there is this really cute scene, they run out of the building under a cloud of dust...t-man goes 'it would not be wist to attempt that again daniel jackson' ROTFL)
anyway, danny translates one of hte headlines to 'vaccine cuases ?????'
they come back to earth knowing that now there is a 1:4 chance that the aschen come from the planet jack told them to avoid in 2010.
hammy wants to explore the other 3, but washington tells him no.
seems washington wants this treaty to happen regardless.
gee wonder whos behind this?
jack goes off to washington to cash in one of is 'we saved the world chips'
he's met by kinsey who sends him back...the arrogant sob thinks it's all about him, jack hates him and doesn't want him to be prez and jack is a glory hound...man does this man need to get a clue, actually he needs to be shot...
anyway,
everyone is pretty sure the aschen are up to bad but can't prove it. thanks to jack going to washington he's NOT allowed to go back to the planet. so its up to sam & joe.
sam tells joe her suspicions. they go to the planet, she gets one of the ashcen to translate the word danny couldnt' translate....vaccine causes sterility' oops....this just ISN'T good.
the ashen know the jig is up...one of the things they offered earth was a bio-bomb, capable of being programmed to kill everyone with a specific dna...(this must be how the tokra were wiped out in 2010...use the bioweapon on the goauld you use it on the tokra too)
tehy give them a lap top with gate addys in it...
sam sees them dialing the gate, they're gonna send the bomb to earth. they have to stop it. her plans is to lower them into the gate, go through and have them close the iris
unfortunately one of the aschen comes into the room and joe does a real nice NFL quality tackle...he has to hold the guy off while sam is dangling over the balcony...he can't make it, tells her to go...she hesitates a second then cuts the rope and goes falling into the gate...she flies down the ramp, literally, goes all the way to the end.OUCH!!!
yells at them to close the iris. tells hammy they were sending a bomb, there wasn't time to wait for the ambassador...kinsey is P***** OFF. totally, steam coming out of his ears....livid, angry, annoyed, did i mention he wasnt' happy?
cue to credits...
the eps can be summed up in three sentences:
earth is saved again
kinsey is ticked off
joe is toast
Notes:
the lap top full of addys is all bad ones...jack says 'well the first one goes to a black hole and they just get darker from there'
(one nit, didn't we use the black hole gate in exodus? OOPS)
it bugged me at the end, not only did joe die, but sam is hurt, i mean she's lying on the ramp obviously in pain and the guys do nothing...i mean nothing. not a concerned look, zero, zip zilch
the shippers are gonna hate this one, there is no ship in it at all. not a single jealous look, no lingering glances, zero hostility between jack & joe...heck the way he was acting i'd bet jack would thorow the engagement party himself.
next week: sam is kidnapped to be used in medical experiments
they show her getting snagged off the streets, restrained to a bed, handcuffed to a bed, someone comes at her with a syringe 'you're going to kill me aren't you'
