Re: Countdown to SpiderMan 2!! June 30!

Nope!! This one will rock!!

SpiderMan 2 I think will brake the box office!!

Do you think it will brake the box office, and if so....
how much money do you think it will make???

Re: Countdown to SpiderMan 2!! June 30!

Alexander the Great will rock the box office. :D

Spiderman was a decent movie in the hero genre - I wouldn't at all mind seeing Spiderman 2. :)

Re: Countdown to SpiderMan 2!! June 30!

Spider-Man has always been my favorite superhero. As comic book characters in general, it's a tie between Spidey and Conan (couldn't help reading a few of the Conan books, either).

I can't wait for Spider-Man 2! Doc Ock promises to blow Gobby away!

Re: Countdown to SpiderMan 2!! June 30!

Tobey Maguire is a promising actor, but there's no real point to Spiderman. It's good entertainment, I'll grant.

Aww. Spoil sport!:D Just 'cause you're right . . .

Re: Countdown to SpiderMan 2!! June 30!

You guys don't know comic strip movies!!

SpiderMan will win!! But I don't really think that SpiderMan will
be revealed, though people and the previews might say.

There will be someone else as SPiderMan when he gets captured.

SPiderMan will not show himself....I think its a trick!! :D

SpiderMan will always triumph!! :D

Spiderman 2

(PLEASE TRY NOT TO GIVE AWAY ANY PLOT IN THIS THREAD)

Anyone seen Spiderman 2 yet? I watched it the other day and I thought it was magnificent. I was never a huge fan of the first Spiderman film to be honest, but I thought this was a lot more daring. First opinions guys?

Re: Spiderman 2

I am going to go see it with a mate tonight, opinions coming forthwith.

Whatever its merits as a superhero film, Kirsten Dunst is RAR.

Re: Spiderman 2

One of the best comic based movies ever made. They really did a great job on this installment, it may be tough to top it.

Post-Spiderman 2 discussion (dont look if you dont want plot spoliers!!!)

I see a few of you have seen Spidey 2 now. I didn't want to discuss the plot in the other thread as there are huge plot points I wouldn't want spolied if I hadn't seen it. So here's a thread to discuss all the intricate plots without annoyiong anyone. Anyway, onto business..

There are 3 more confirmed Spiderman movies coming out, and I really didn't see Sam Raimi being as bold as he was in the 2nd film.

My question is simply, what direction do you see the next 3 films taking, after the plot developments in the second film?

Re: Post-Spiderman 2 discussion (dont look if you dont want plot spoliers!!!)

I'm hoping and praying for an appearance by Venom. But really after MJ marrying him and Oswald becoming Green Goblin 2, I can't think of plot-points or directions beyond internal crises and such on the part of Spidey. That's why I want to see Venom, because then there's the conflict of becoming a monster and his friend's being possessed by the symbiote.
Raimi's going great-guns though, and you have to wonder what Army of Darkness would have been like with this much money behind it. Probably the same but with better skeletons, yet still...
Incidentally, do you think that they'll start-up the full-scale anti-Spidermanism and SHIELD like in the cartoons and comics? Will we see him fighting the cops, too? I hope so, because that's what makes Spiderman work, the whole conflict and hero-pariah thing.

Re: Spiderman 2

The direction is excellent. The only way to do those swinging scenes is extended shots, and they do just that. Funny, too, which is a nice change from stuffy tripe like Daredevil. This is up there with The Crow and Ghost in the Shell.

Re: Post-Spiderman 2 discussion (dont look if you dont want plot spoliers!!!)

Venom would be cool yeah, but Raimi seemed to be pushing Dr. Connors character quite a bit. I think we may see The Lizard in the next film.
Is it a forgone conclusion that we will see Green Goblin 2? Perhaps we will get the Hobgoblin?

Do you think they will avoid introducing Kingpin as he made a pivotal appearance in the recent Daredveil moive, or will this not matter to Raimi. He may be in danger of confusing the general viewing public introducing the character again.

Not sure whether the mass antispidermanism will make an appearance, but I think after having Peter reveal his identity to MJ at the end of number 2, anything is possible. One thing Raimi certainly has is balls.

I may be way off the mark here, but was it just me or did Doc Ock look not completely dead as he sunk? Maybe I am mistaken, or perhaps I just detected some movement I wasn't meant to, is he definately dead?

Really! You didn't like Daredevil? I really quite enjoyed the Daredevil movie, though I must confess I knew little of its background when I saw the film. In many respects I actually preferred Darevil to the first Spiderman movie, but number two is infinately better than both.

Re: Spiderman 2

Daredevil was seriously over-acted by Colin Farrell...

Other parts of it were fine, but I can't say that Ben Affleck was particularly convincing as Matt Murdock - and where was Stick???

I enjoyed the first Spider-man... Though there was one scene that always annoys me... Close-up of SM and MJ swinging and her hair is going the wrong way!!!
