What Anime and Animation are you currently watching?

Currently watching 'Persona', which isn't bad. There's potential, so I'll see where it goes. Also just finished rewatching the 1st half of 'Twelve Kingdoms', which I think is one of my all-time favorites. ^_^

Currently re-watching Dungeons & Dragons again :); the eighties US animated movie. Now on the twelfth episode (The Lost Children). This takes me way back and the feeling of nostalgia is pretty strong. I know this is cheesy now, but I'm a sucker for old fantasy cartoons (and not just the recently popularized Japanese cartoons/Anime which is a whole new ball game and is also something I tend to like) among other things...and this one especially is one of my all time favorites. Anyhow, does anyone know where I could find scripts for these D&D shorts? Perhaps point me in the right direction? They tend to be clichéd I know (something almost every post-Tolkien fantasy had in common to some degree...), but to me at least they hold a certain charm and originality; feel as though the writers did not over analyze their intended audience and the cartoons came out seeming more raw and authentic which IMHO you don't get to see in western animations/fantasy nowadays...or perhaps am I reading too much into this? this might also be because it just happened to be the first fantasy I was exposed to at a very young age. Anyway I'll write a few more thoughts on this when I'm fully done.

I recently downloaded the first 2 seasons of the real Ghostbusters animated series.

While it is not nearly as good as how I remember it, it was, in fact, one of the smartest and best written kids shows in the West. The plots themselves are rather simple, and contrived, but some of the detail in the dialog is quite cool.

I mean, come on, how many other Saturday morning kids cartoons mention Cthulhu, while in the same episode feature a character named Clark Smith? They also name check Samhain, Citizen Kane, and a host of other more adult themes and things.

Pretty cool.

The animation isn't half bad either. I always liked DIC's work.

Im watching a super powered dark anime who is very interesting. Called Darker Than Black.

Watching also Major about baseball and alot of nice drama, well done characters.

Chrono Crusade and Macross Zero. Both seem very good to me, although Macross makes me wish they'd also remake the original Robotech series with animation of the same quality and more consistency in the story.

I watched The Return of the Cat last night and was very happy to find something my son can watch too, and I know he'll like it.

Hmm. Turns out I had something wrong here. Robotech wasn't the original, apparently. It was a joint American/Japanese production using the Japanese Macross series as a base. Interesting. Well, supposedly the third installment, New Generation. was based on something unrelated to Macross and completely different as a result. I still love Robotech, although I plan to watch the series from which each generation evolved anyway, and it would be nice to see an updated version.

Stayed up all night watching twenty episodes back to back of Samurai 7 on insistence of a close friend. Don't like Anime that much apart from a select few and this one just happened to be below average; lost it's momentum (what little it had anyway) towards the last three episodes, which was to be honest, barely watchable. I endured it only because out of respect for my friend.

Watching Fullmetal Alchemist (at this very moment actually), Couldn't resists the temptation of watching it after going through the manga (which I think is the best way to go about it), since I've only got five volumes.:D I'll definitely be collecting it after I'm done with the Anime!

What did you think of Gurren Lagann? This is my current favorite show.

Thinking of re-watching the whole Nanoha series or Claymore.

Gurren Lagann was good. Better than expected actually. I'm not usually a fan of the giant robot anime, but this was much more than that. Interesting ideas, animation, and characters made it well worth the time to watch.

Just finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist, WOW!...definitely many re-watchings on the way.:) I'm doubtful we'll get to see something this good and original anytime soon.
