Creative rhyming

And told him what had happened. On a whim

Developers had bought the house; planned to knock it down...
 
Then had an idea! Find someone to sue!

Now Fox was the slyest of all of them there....
 
Then hire a good lawyer, imposing and large,

that can tell us just what we can do, in this case....
 
nothing till a grand from them he could embrace...

so off to owl the menagerie did proceed...
 
"I'll tell you what! Let's find Bill Oddie!-
He's the animals' friend, he'll know what to do"...
 
"even thought he's lost a marble or two"...

so off they scamper until they realise...
 
that ex-Goodies aren't really always that wise.

And although finishing the cheesecake sure took its time...

He turned to the creatures, saying "What can I do for you?"
 
The hedgehog started talking, the fox he started too,
When David finally got the point, he frowned and looked quite grim..
 
But we've a fight in front of us, of that I have no doubt!"

And so they set off for the house, the animals and Dave...
