What comic books/graphic novels are you reading at the moment?

I read it, but on it's own without any of the tie-ins, and it was superb without them. Sometimes all these spin-offs and tie-ins drag a series down a bit.

Thats what i wondered. I dont care about anyone else in those tie ins .
I enjoyed Planet Hulk and it made me a fan.

I just wanna catch up to the latest Hulk comic.

Then that's the best way to do it - the only one that has a direct effect on WW Hulk is his own title, and even then that changed to The Incredible Hercules right at the end of the 'War', making way for the new Hulk title.

Now I didn't enjoy 1602 at all...

To each their own I guess and yes, its definitely worth a re-read like most of Gaiman's work. BTW I can vouch for Willingham's Fables, IMHO one of best things to come out of Vertigo since The Sandman.

Couldn't agree more about Fables, and the spin-off Jack of Fables, both of them are probably some of my favourites at the moment. Willingham is partially responsible of the new House of Mystery (with Matthew Sturges who co-writes Jack) and that is another fantastic read!

Thats good to know. Will be keeping an eye out for that one. :)

I've just finished reading Pride of Baghdad, written by Brian K. Vaughan, Art by Niko Henrichon. Its fantastic

It truly is, one of the best graphic novels I've read in a long while, nearly up there, but not quite with MAUS by Art Spiegelman

Well.... off the top of my head no. (But that does not mean to say that there isn't) Playing it safe there!

Oh, I used to, many, many years ago. I rote a few things that were fairly well received in a few very small circles, but never took it much further than that.

It was a science fiction/time travel adventure. (and a few superhero things on the side)
What about you?

Quite a lot of genres to be honest. I have just finished a crime revenge story. Have another on the go about post nuclear war and various other ideas buzzing through my mind. I think the problem is having too many ideas rather than a lack of them.
A friend and I have setup a company called Broken English Comics, we are currently working on some ideas and a website.
I'm really interested in what people are currently putting out there and how they get them published, how about yours?

I am stupidly behind on my reading and still have Maus on the pile. Been busy writing, any of you guys do your own stuff?

Nope, not graphic novel-wise. Can't draw well enough to satisfy myself, I hope one day to find someone to put art to my words.

Otherwise lots of people (myself included) write conventional:rolleyes: prose fiction on the forums.

Mine was published in parts by a small press (very small press) publisher called North London Comics, a simple but fun affair run by friends. I've not really attempted to write comicstrips in years. Like Woodsman I've played with prose, but even that has slowed right down recently

I might have. I'll have a look around over the weekend and see what I can find. Thanks for the interest...
