The chronicles word counter!

Title: Ink (but I think it'll change)
Genre: YA fantasy
Word Count: 11,000 words.
Status: It's all (pretty much) outlined and about half of it is written at early draft level, and I'm convinced that there's not more than 15,000 words' worth of story here though I'm aiming for 40,000+ and it's suddenly gone from being The Greatest Thing I've Ever Written to something I'm not very sure about at all.

It's just at that stage... looking up the mountain. It'll be great. :)

Ok: Sunset over Abendau

stuck at 57500 words for the weekend, after lots of chopping and changes. Timeline is now planned, including another plot line. this is new territory; the first was a pretty linear story, this one has 4 plots working simultaneously. Hence the Gantt chart.

Edited, brought into new plot line, chapters 1-4. Probably about another 15000 words needed in middle section for new stuff, end needs extended.

Title: I, Singularity
Start Date: January 2012
Genre: Super Hero, aiming for the Terry Pratchett First Novel contest, which means I need 80,000+ words by 31st December 2012.
Word Count: 22,001 words.
Status: A work in progress. The scene where she meets one of the scariest heroes in this universe progressing nicely. I have committed onomatopoeia several times, now. And we have zombie slugs squelching across the landscape!

I've written 2,000 words more since, eight chapters to go now. this was interspersed with a little wobble (crisis of confidence) that meant I had to stew on it for a while. Our Heroes are on the move still - definite note for the sequel - a darn sight less travelling!

After nothing for ages, I've written 430 words today, bringing TBM to 28097.

1. Novel: The Eternity Sphere

Next task; send to readers and rest awhile.

While resting...

2. Very short story: Still Motion

900 words of the supernatural. Seen and commented on by readers. Will now make changes and submit.

3. Interregnum

Fantasy short story for competition

Status

2100 words written. Aiming for c. 8,000 in next seven weeks.

The Many - Start date January 2012
This is now 10/05/2012 - 28,670.

The first edit is done and it really needed the tidy up.

Time to inflict on some readers. Lets hope they'll stay friends with me afterwards.

Name: A Reflection Upon The Ice
Genre: YA Fantasy - A Blending of Urban, Epic Fantasy and Steampunk.

Hours Worked: 7
Word Count: 8,000 - with 56k of leftover up my sleeve from original A Touch of Ice draft.

Yay, got another day of writing in; been so busy recently I've barely had time to write, or the energy to do so - long work days. Probably going to have just 2.5 days of writing each week for awhile. :(

@ Mouse; like I said I grind to a halt.... 60227, that's 769 since the last post after a full day at it.... but much tighter, new plot lines and there is an additional bit to go on the end that I've been plotting out so I suppose one can't do everything. Even so. 769. Grrr.

I dunno. I've just had to tell Storm off for calling herself an ignoramus, and now Mouse... My slapping hand will be getting worn out.

You do not suck. You've had a bad day. Possibly caused by the weather. (If it's raining it's depressed you so you can't write. If it's sunny, it's too distracting, so you can't write. Vary as required for appropriate meteorological conditions.) Tomorrow will be better. (And so far today I'm at 106, so you're way ahead of me.)

Ah come on, a double slap! :p

Very sunny today, TJ, and I have been distracted out in the garden.

I don't remember the last time I posted in this thread. Dang it's hard to type on my new iPod. I really love autocorrect though.

Let's see on doomed I have as of this moment 5888 words. A long time ago I had over 10000 words but they were mostly nonsense and I might make another story out of it since I still have have it.

Figured out what's going to happen at the very end, kind of only had a vague notion until now. up to 63614, very loose, needs a lot of editing. Still another 10000 or so to write to wrap it up. Body count of characters going up, and some of them I like, darn it.
Alpha feedback on prologue and chapter one being acted on, chapter two to be edited in advance of at some stage this week.

87,373 words at the end of chapter 22, five chapters to go and I've finally decided on a title for book one - The Blind Tiger.

At this rate I might actually finish before I go home for summer \o/
