The chronicles word counter!

Under Elysium's Light.

Another two Chapters completed, taking the word count to 67,162.

Next chapter is a slowish one, hopefully an attempt at world building, a pause and a bit of character development before we make the dash for the end - still chapters away but it should all fall in place now

So, um, Galaxy is 2049 words. So that's nice. We will call it a form of planning, shall we?

Hours revamping office that I've taken a week off to do: 30 minutes
Hours writing, with the block gone and it appearing as if by magic: 5.

Oops.

Galaxy is now up to 5402, and this time it feels right. There's a story, there are people, it's in third, and I'm a happy little writer. :)

New project, nicknamed Angel

Middle Grade Urban Fantasy
Start date - Feb 5th
Word Count - still at planning phase: 1267 words of backstory and basic outlines
Language - in English, this time...

As Mouse says, I'm not feeling it.

Novel: The Cult of Hahn
Genre: Fantasy
Word Count: 76,347 out of ca. 125,000
Status: On hold

Novel: Out of the Frying Pan (working title)
Genre: Science Fiction
Word Count: 21,922 out of ca. 80,000
Status: I was working hot and heavily on this, but then it dried up ... or more precisely, I got too involved with other things, which have run their course (in a bad way).

More Late Nights with Ezzie Dryar, novella, abandoned at 17,710 words. It just wasn't doing anything useful so I wrote a sudden crappy ending and shut the door on it.

Eirica Johnstone's Obsession, novella, 38,466 words. It's all serialized now on my WordPress site, but it isn't publishable. It's cute at times, but the ending is perfunctory, and I don't think it is worth a re-write. It won't even make it into my anthology.

I am happy to say I had a few minutes to get some work done on my WIP tonight. I plan on setting a good chunk of time to it this weekend but for now I have moved from 1,710 to 2,552.

The story is getting clearer and the more I write the more I am thinking about it and coming up with future threads to the book.

I've written 185 words today, so that's good, I suppose. So now the new thing's probably around the 900 word mark.

I'm up to 10427 and the end of part one now. it's all a bit darker than I'd hoped for, but that's dystopia for you, I guess. I have made a memo to get some humour into the second draft. Juggling fire clowns of doom, perhaps?

So, about that. Started again and am now on 9,365 with plenty to keep me going for a while.

The Blind Tiger version ten million: 19,042 words, figured out how I want it to end (yay!) and I'm writing pretty sparsely so there's lots of room for bulking too. Could be a long one...

So, my untitled new thing (I don't like having things untitled, I'll have to think of one soon) is now 2011 words, can you believe that? Amazing.

My collab with amw is now (ok, thanks to amw) 21871, which is also amazing.

It has been a fairly productive writing session. Moving on from 2500 to 3770! The story is moving along well

My shiny new wip (which I will have to abandon soon to finish off INK) is now at 2,500 words. Compared to starting INK, this one's like wading through mud but I'm hoping it will get easier before it drives me insane.

Title (v provisional): KATE AND THE SEA
Genre: YA -- historical, with light fantasy elements.
Start date: 10th February
Word count: 2,500

Title: The Maidenflower Dance
Genre: Steampunk Fantasy with a dash of Romance
Start Date: Completely forgotten. Date is buried somewhere in this thread. Some point in October I believe.
Word Count: 70,500
Status: I'm finally done editing and redrafting the first half of the book and have started moving forward with the story, so the word count is at last going on up again. I've still got quite a bit of the story to go, so she's going to be a big one. I'm expecting to be pushing the upper limit of 140k

Culture Shock - Start date May 2012
12/02/2013 – 83,500

I'm not far from the end now, at a guess 10k to 15k left. Time to crack on....

Title- Uncertain.. maybe 'Nothingness' TBC
Start Date - July 2012
Word Count - 92,008

Halfway through my third major rewrite.. and things are finally sounding almost smooth - whew! *mops sweat from forehead

32,217. :) Which sounds like fingers of fire on the typewriter, but I cheated and started to be able to add in some of the earlier stuff now the structure is coming together a little more. I have the final section to draft, and reckon first draft might come in about 50-60k.
