The chronicles word counter!

Congratulations, chopper!
Well done. :)

Well done, Chopper - thats one big word count you have there.

"The Many" - was at 16k, went down to 15k and is now back up to 16k. I guess this is progress!

Tyburn: that's completed first draft, but given my writing style, I tend to have to tweak more than comprehensively edit. the draft of HTTN didn't alter much before I started sending it out. horse for courses, and YMMV, of course.

Name: Godsfall
Genre: Fantasy (epic/heroic)
Word Count: 38796 - aiming for the generically accepted 100k mark.
Status: Active, though a little slow as of late.

Title - In Gold
Genre - Romance(attempted) with a little but of 'beyond normality' thrown in
Word count - 36,412
Start date - 5th June 2013
Status. The full steam ahead didn't last too much longer. I realised I was coming close to the end, and didn't have anything for my character to do before he got there... Which would have been awful. So I stalled for a time, to have a rethink, and have decided to add a second POV from the other half of the romantic couple, so that will add new plot events, new character arcs and emotional journey's (plus kind of turns the straight forward romance into a more complex triangle  )
So In Gold is stalled for the moment while I try and figure out the whole second plot. And as such, I'm a little study for what to do... Maybe some editing of a previous work, A Moment in Darness perhaps?

I did send my first novella, 'Grace', out yesterday to a publisher. I hope I did it right, and I hope they like it and pick it up. Exciting times, in the LittleStar household

Title - In Gold
Genre - Romance(attempted) with a little but of 'beyond normality' thrown in
Word count - 39, 418
Start date - 5th June 2013
Status - Back up and running after a few weeks break, for a family visit and general holiday time (it is my summer break before uni restarts after all:p)I've figured out roughly what I'm doing with the new POV chapters, though am still a little unsure about adding a new viewpoint in at the halfway mark... Will see how it holds up I guess.
I guess I'm at just over halfway through, but that's a LittleStar first draft, which most always needs several full edits!

Still going upwards. Hurray! At 57, 828 words. A lot of work done on the tricky middle section -- next week I start work on the end game and hope to add about another 12,000 words. I'd be happy with 70 for this little one.

Ha, or maybe 65.... am up to 62,311. Another big chapter to go (might end up as two) and the epilogue to make much longer. I think I need a nice, lingering kiss in there somewhere. So that will take up ten words..

Anyway, am posting today because I am taking tomorrow off. I know, shock, horror! Am going off to enjoy the kids and have a family party in the evening.

Hopefully Waters will be at 65,000 by Sunday and away to the first beta of the whole thing. All hail the Rodent Queen!

Ooh, do I get little ratty minions? :D

Shuttered is now 31,500 words exactly.

On June 25th...

Bartley (working title)

Urban Fantasy novel

Status: 32,262 words. That's 6k in last 11 days, which, although slower than before, is still a good rate for me.

On August 17th...

Bartley (working title)

Urban Fantasy novel

Status: 49,950 words. Things slowed down a bit. End of Part One (London). Next up is Part Two (Scotland)

But first, I take a break and rewrite my opening chapter from The Eternity Sphere (YA SF) for submission to Strange Chemistry by Oct 31st, and a new tranche of agents.

I'll also send a 2k short story out (Magical realism, from our Sekrit Santa) and I've sent a 900 word short to Tickety Boo Press for their perusal.

"The Many" - 17.5k and I'm starting to feel better about it, I have an opening. I think this might be a long one!

Good luck with your submissions Alchemist, let us know if anyone shows any interest, fingers crossed for ya.

Shuttered: 32,227. That's 727 words in a day. Not bad for me!

Now 33,939. 1712 words in two days. God, I wish I could write faster! Although, that's pretty damn good, right? Something just came to me and now I've gone off piste a bit but whatever's gonna get the word count up is fine by me.

new status time!

ED4 - The Packard Defence (provisional title)
serial space adventure with AIs, clones, hyperspace & alien cats
15k (target 50k)
status: recently revived after a long hiatus. 2k added in the last week, including dirtyness that will result in a real "eewwwwww!" moment later on.

sidenote: after asking the Write Agenda - again - why they support bookburning, they attempted to threaten me with a line from ED3 ("We shall hang his bones outside our nest and listen to them chime!"). i call that 3-0 to me. :D

So, poor little Waters has been cast aside, like a dishrag. (Actually, it needed some maturing time.)

Inish, rewrite. I'm about 2/3 of the way through, but with a lot still to do. One major character has completely changed and needs totally rewritten, my mc has gone all deep and a bit zen-like on me. And it all needs a good edit once I'm sure I have the new plot lines in place. It now stands 82.634, where the last version was only 73,000 words. Aiming for a max of 85k.

Okay, i'm new here and have been lurking for a few days whilst trying to digest all of the information on this site.
Here's my confession:

Novel: 'Within'
genre: Low Fantasy/Horror
word count: 63,889
status: First draft complete. On hold to gain perspective. Ending needs rewrite and several scenes need to be added. On hold as the book and I needed some time apart.

Short Story: Prequel to 'Within'
genre: As above
word count: 4621 (target 6000+)
status: WIP.

Now I'm off to try and catch up with this thread...
