So the whole possession thing's doing wonders for my word count. The romance is now at 37,108 words.

status: First draft complete. On hold to gain perspective. Ending needs rewrite and several scenes need to be added. On hold as the book and I needed some time apart. No change.

Short Story: Prequel to 'Within'

word count: 6863 target achieved with 1/3 to go.
status: WIP.

Hoping to get some more done later today while the husband has the kids!

Reached the end of the prequel last night; at 12,177. Now to walk away and do some reading for a few weeks before I return to it with fresh eyes! It's going to be tough not tweaking it in the meantime...

So, poor little Waters has been cast aside, like a dishrag. (Actually, it needed some maturing time.)

Inish, rewrite. I'm about 2/3 of the way through, but with a lot still to do. One major character has completely changed and needs totally rewritten, my mc has gone all deep and a bit zen-like on me. And it all needs a good edit once I'm sure I have the new plot lines in place. It now stands 82.634, where the last version was only 73,000 words. Aiming for a max of 85k.

So, I've pulled something out of the bag for Inish, now I'll let it simmer for a wee while. I just did my Sekrit santa, too. Other than that, I'm taking a couple of days off as I don't want to go back to something and then return to Inish. Imagine. What on Earth will I do with my time?

Started the first (technically 9th) of the commissions today. 147 words. Still, it's a start.

That's all the writing I've done today, but Shuttered is at 38,590. Rowan's still possessed.

Status - Back up and running after a few weeks break, for a family visit and general holiday time (it is my summer break before uni restarts after all)I've figured out roughly what I'm doing with the new POV chapters, though am still a little unsure about adding a new viewpoint in at the halfway mark... Will see how it holds up I guess.
I guess I'm at just over halfway through, but that's a LittleStar first draft, which most always needs several full edits!

Status - Going fairly slowly still, but well (i wanted to get in on page 100 though) The chapters are roughly planned (though writing them always brings out the little details to add in) I'm currently through 15 and a half chapters of a planned 21, and hope to be finished with the first draft by the time my final uni year starts at the end of the month. I estimate around 65k words for this draft.

I've completed one of the commissions, woo! Feel like I'm not so bogged down now.

So, still got one commission to go (that is, until the next pair come in, but I've now been informed I can make some of the actual characters I'm writing about female, so yay!) but I've not started. So zero words on that.

Not started the Secret Santa story either but I keep getting vague feelings about it, so we'll see if something stirs soon.

Shuttered is now at 39,084, so I feel good about that too. Not sure I'll reach 60k on it, but we'll see. Rowan's now no longer possessed. Reckon I should get some loving in (well, it is a romance) before I kick off with the dramaz again.

The ghost piece I'm attempting to write for Gary has got to 4,249 words, with beginning and end more or less written, and the middle yet to crystallise. For a 10,000 worder I should need to write about 12,000, so I should be about a third there.

Shuttered now at 42,117. And I've just written a scene that made me blub a little so there's a possibility it may be too melodramatic. Will find out when I read it back in the morning!

Not sure how many words Shuttered's currently on, as can't open the file at the mo. It's more than last time I posted here, but not by much.

Finished one commission. Managed to write it in one sitting and it's about 1100 words (why can't I do that in novels?!) Got one commission to go, plus the Sekrit Santa story which is still on twenty-odd words.

Off to Cornwall on Monday, so not sure how much writing will be done!

Under Abendau's Sky (working title) has about 30,000 written. Now has a Gantt chart for the four mini-plots (huzzah!) and a plan. Whoo-hoo. Just gotta write it now.

Seems I had an even longer hiatus. Got some new ideas down on paper (well digital) whilst I let the main wip simmer for a bit. Been a year since I've started this I see! Looks live I've averaged about 3,000 words per month.

I've not progressed much over the last few weeks, house move, but the dust is settling now and I should start writing soon. I have done some, 21k, but The Many is in need of some attention.
