pretty happy with that as i look back over my earlier posts to see i only started it mid-september... seems much longer ago than that! i was a bit unsure whether there was enough in the story to get to novel length but, after the introduction of a little old lady called Gladys, i'm certain i will get to my absolute minimum of 50 thousand words for the first draft, and pretty confident i will get to my planned 80 thousand...

been a bit slow on my main WIP as i've been putting together something i think i will submit for Gary's "Malevolence" collection

Status: 4132 words and first draft finished.


Now I just need to get someone to read over it and make sure it's not rubbish. any horror beta's around? ;)
 
Busy with a structural edit of my contemporary fantasy; 'In the Shadow of the Brownie Stone.' Just broken through the 80k mark, with three short scenes left to edit, and one new scene to write. Then a general tidy through, and the end is in sight.


'The Shaded Heart' - Epic fantasy, is on hold, sitting at about 15k, and simmering in the background of my thoughts, ready to pick up when I'm done with the Brownie Stone edit.

Haven't written any new shorts or flash in a while, because of focussing on the novel, but have several out on sub.
 
The Many - 31k

That's more like progress, finally in the 30's. Some spaceship fun and shooting done, nothing much just the spaceship version of one across the bows type of thing.
 
Nanowrimo wip at 4200 words...There is no way I will be close to 50,000. I just don't have the time now. I have one day off work for the rest of the month...ugggg. I will keep slowly plugging away when I get a chance though. I like my story so far so that is positive.

46,797 and the first draft completed. (It will grow, there is no description or anything other than dialogue for the last third.)

I know what happens at the end. (And no, Mouse, I'm not telling!) And it was worth it.

It'll be a couple of months before I come back and fill this out properly, but for now, I got to the end of the first draft of a trilogy. Huzzah! I didn't believe I could.

So, a day or two off, then back to Inish. Ho hum... :D
 
I've given up with TBM again for the moment. It's too much for my brain.

So, trying to add more will they/won't they romantical stuff into Shuttered and add another 5k to get it to 60k.

Thanks...feels good. And not a bad time of year to think about reclaiming my social life...

Back on topic...500 words done today on new sci-fi project, well, going out is over rated.

Status: 64,000 words. Things have sped up a little again (although looking at it again, it's 15k in four months, which is pathetic really). There's lots of heather and I've had to research:

Russian swear words
Electronic surveillance
The works of Kipling


And I'm no longer a sex scene virgin :p

My google searches last night consisted of hire cars in Boston, Baretta pico - images - and a youtube video on how to fire one. Tame in comparison to some dodgy search terms in my internet history!

All in the name of research.
 
The Many now over 38k, which is good steady going.
I'm also reworking a robot story that had been 10k. A little more polish, it can't hurt. Regardless, a little break from The Many is refreshing.
