The chronicles word counter!

Update:

Unfinished
Novel: Sentinels of Mith Book I: "Twilight Angel, Remember"
Genre: Dark, epic fantasy.
Word Count: 106,845.
Status: Progressing. Close to halfway done.

I have been productive these last days. Productivity will probably go down again soon when I begin writing my master's thesis, though.

nothing finished yet......
....but here's the count:

Malessar's Curse @ 42000
The Winter Road (short in same universe) @ 4119 (and that's a big jump upwards)
Death of an Occidental Tourist (collaborative writing project) @ 9924 (still not done! but at least it has a title now....)

56K words in all. Not bad. :)

It would be interesting if people would also put in an estimate of how long the things are meant to be when done. (My book is estimated at around 200K words or 600 pages.)

Can do...

Unfinished
Novellette: Into Harm's Way
Genre: Steampunk
Word Count: 4471
Intended Length: As long as it needs to be.

ooh look, new story!

What goes up
fantasy short story - straightfaced farce featuring a lack of forward planning and a drunken mage called Pigeonwick
status: just started, after weeks of mental kneading
666 words (no, really), aiming for 5000 tops (must keep it short...)

Update:

Unfinished
Novel: Sentinels of Mith Book I: "Twilight Angel, Remember"
Genre: Dark, epic fantasy.
Word Count: 110,394.
Status: Approximately halfway done.

Novel: How Pain is Just Pt. 1
Genre: Post Apocalyptic
Word Count: 55,857
Intended Length: 100,000, 150k at most
Status: It's been really slow but I've picked it back up and added about 6k in the last few days. This is just one part of four that will fit into one huge book. I'm aiming to make it no more than 100k but the storyline is pretty expansive. Fingers crossed to finish this part before February. 'Tis my goal, you see. If I actually get into like I have with other books (I once wrote 15k in one very long day) then I see myself finishing it in the first couple weeks of January. So expect to see the word count reset and that little one up there turn to a 2 pretty soon.

P.S. You know if you've been writing a lot when you press ctrl+s at the end of your post.

You thank the yew tree?

Actually, no..... it was a comedian from many years ago, and I was very small (honest) but his catch phrase was this, with a heavy emphasis on the 'you', which comes over better as 'yew'...... Arthur Askey, if my (poor) memory serves me correctly!

No thread-killer, you. We're just still in awe of your progress :)

And you're right, it was Arthur Askey, one of the country's earliest "best-loved" comedians. It was a sort of pseudo-posh "Ay thenk yew" he used to do and it doesn't come across so well in print.

And with that, I've just added 60 more words to my daily count :D

Going backwards now.... after latest self-edit I have dropped from 174,842 to 169,348...... I have a feeling It's going to drop even more.... and that I've killed this thread!!:(
I have that, too. My story has shrunk a bit after I culled some weak parts. I think it's a good thing.
