Yeah, I didn't get that. I was trying to remember if it was one of the Iron Islands...
and a maiden fair? There's this big wall that keeps undead monkeys from attacking the crew. But the big blonde monkey throws Kong's pet from the top of the wall... and the Old Silverback dies trying to catch a guinea pig. Then Ironmen grab the sacrificial girl from a bucket of leeches just before dragon-wolves sing a song about a bear.
This is missing a smiley or sarcasticon, hopefully?I can't believe he's wasting his time writing King Kong fanfic.
Trust me. As the one on the receiving end of Wiggum's cheekiness, I can attest that he has his tongue firmly planted in his cheese-headed cheeks. This is missing a smiley or sarcasticon, hopefully?
Sorry to even question your post. I should have known better.Cheeky?
Awesome.
I can check that of my "adjectives used to describe me" list.
Yeah, Imp, it was sarcasm. A hopefully humorous attempt to head off "thebookisntdonewhydoeshehavealifeanddootherthingswithhistime" comments.
BH, I just went back and reread GRRM's Update Page for ASOIAF... and at the end he recommends several authors, including Mr. Durham. Ursa Major posted a quote (by Martin?) praising Durham's work. I am now intrigued.... of course I get intrigued every fifteen minutes, but this time I'm serious.David Anthony Durham
I think the next thing I'm supposed to say it... "Hello, my name is Boaz...
...and I'm an Iceandfireaholic. I've been clean for twenty minutes."

I'm about halfway through Durham's first Acacia book. It's "ok". Don't expect a lot of intrigue that you have to figure out for yourself like with ASOIAF. Durham pretty much tells you everything you need to know. You won't have to worry about wondering what someone else is thinking or scheming, either, since it seems just about everyone has a POV. It's not bad, but as has been mentioned a zillion times before, it's hard for any series to measure up once you've read ASOIAF.
Well if you're halfway through Durham will have quite a few surprises for you in the other half.
Not that many. One, maybe two.
