I also think it would be unfair if people voted without reading all the stories. And I'm not just saying that because I usually post mine late (honest!). I hope that's not a regular practice of yours Karn.

First time it's ever happened and Gaea willing, the last. I was just extremely busy this last month due to the fact that there was...family issues.

You know you don't have to vote straight away, right? :p

I'm now torn between No One and digs. Gah! Need to read them both again.

Thank you, HJ! I think you just saved my otherwise pretty messed up Friday afternoon.

Thank you Mouse!

Two votes is a new personal record, so I'm inexplicably pleased. :)

My list:

No One - White Crow
Hoopy - Lukoje
Culhwch - Killin' Time
Challah - We Are Beautiful!
HJ - Untitled

And my vote went to Hoopy.

It seems** to be, beadchaser. Having said that, some of us take our time in voting; I shall be doing so today or tomorrow.

** - I expect someone will have the stats to hand.

I'm one of those mysterious, kind (yay!) people. I was going through them again and I remembered how I was particularly taken with yours the first time I'd read it when you'd posted.

And wow. Wow, thanks to everyone who's voted for mine. Whoa.

Is it common that there are more entries than votes?

And someone has...

The entries/votes per month:

April: 43/39
May: 42/42
June: 42/37
July: 47/47
August: 51/51
September: 47/46
October 49/47

So, yes. In four of the seven months we've had more entries than votes, and never had more votes than entries (despite the fact that, to my knowledge, someone who has never entered has voted at least twice, if not more often.)

I don't know if TJ was referring to me - but if she isn't, then that's two people, and if she is, she's correct...:)

In that case, many thanks, not-so-mysterious kind person!

Just whittled my shortlist down, with some difficulty:

Siren by Talysia
The Undeath of Johnny Cross, P.I. by digs
Waiting For Contact by mosaix
Touch by Mouse

In the end, I had to go for Talysia, by the barest margin over the others. The very barest margin. Such great entries this month, all around.

I'm your other fan, Culhwch. I like the way the punchline came right down to the last two words before it all made sense.
My overall runner-up was Mouse's very visceral entry, which stuck with me despite attempts to forget it.:)
There are stories good enough to win that don't have any votes yet.
