Sympathies for Chris here. I just scrolled through the June thread five times and could find no entry for TEIN.

The sixth time there it was as post number 29.

I'm sure it wasn't there the first five times.

Finally got mine in. A step ahead of the one for last month, I think, but I guess time will tell.

I didn't read any entries until after posting this time. Trying to keep the pressure low. The stories so far are fantastic, but Teresa's is the one sticking out to me at the moment. Can't really explain why, it just grabbed me. Very nice.

Oh, and "someone" would probably reveal that Snow White was a bunny boiler (using focused light directed into the mine where her enslaved workforce toils 24x7).

We've had another story disqualified and removed because of its length. I won't say who, but don't anyone worry: if your story is still there, it isn't the one. (Besides, I PM'd the individual in question hours ago.)

Anyway, the reason I mention this is to REMIND everyone to count the number of words in your stories yourselves. Don't depend on your word processors; they can get it wrong. They can get it wrong for all sorts of reasons. Stories have been disqualified because of that before.

And your moderators here really, really hate having to do that to people. We want to see as many stories each month as possible, and we want everyone to have a fair chance at winning. When there is a conflict between those two things, fairness has to win. We would so much rather the situation didn't arise, and I am sure that all of you feel the same.

So make sure that it really is 75 words or less before you post it.

Brilliant. I had it right, went to post and it said 73, twice it said that. So I added the words' Diamonds' and 'sparkling'- truly unneccessary fluffage, and phoosh.I will post it in the 'some kind of error' thread perhaps. It were fluff anyway. very silly.

Posted my first story yesterday, and I find this activity to be potentially alot of fun. Forgive my almost childish take on the theme, and seemingly bad sentence construction. I wish I waited to after this months voting and submitted for critiquing first. Next month I should have more of a handle on the competition expectations.

Some really good stories have been posted, I am very impressed.

Ah, I knew there was a reason I joined this community - the hovering spectre of threatened slapping and women in power ;P

Ahem, and on topic I have to say my favourites so far are onebigpotato, Mouse and HoopyFrood... but boy is it a hard choice!
