Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Well, honestly I'm surprised I managed to come up with anything here, for all the whining I did about it. (Of which I apologize, I'm sure I was getting more than a little annoying with it, hehe.)

There are some nice entries so far. I like most of what's up but not anywhere near have any possible choices yet.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Worse? We're just having some bun... I mean fun, fun!

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Karn - you were kidding us all along (generic drudge indeed!). Very clever entry...

It's going to be tougher than usual choosing a winner this month , and there has clearly been so much effort put in by so many people already that it seems a shame that anyone has to lose. But , tbh everyone who takes part in the Challenge is a winner as far as I'm concerned.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Now I said most, Marvin...

To be honest I've only really liked two or three of my entries. I liked the one I put in last month, my winner, and one or two others.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Oh , and can I also thank The Judge and High Eight for their kind words in regards to my entry. To be so judged leaves me feeling most humble.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Howdy, Perp Man, I tried to rattle your cage last month when you gave a mention to a fellow called Nob S. Sr, but no reply. Were you not in?

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

What? I didn't? I did? Oh no, terrible sorry, Mr. Bob sir.

There's no excuse.

(I probably didn't notice your rattlin' of my cage as things went a little crazy and I was out and about a bit more than I would have liked.)

My most humble of apologies, and for this month I may be known, by your good self as Perpetual Nan.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Don't want to hijack, but wanted to draw your attention to my posting today on the 300 word challenge, re the prize all your votes garnered me. Most people are reading this thread daily - it's hard to keep up!
Sorry.... and thank you.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Sheesh. I stop paying attention to Writing Challenges for a day or two and suddenly it's full of brilliance. I know it normally is, you lot all being brilliant n all - but honestly, it's only the SECOND today.
Have mercy on those of us still struggling to crush our infinite resource and sagacity into 75 words.
On my first read through I loved, especially, Paranoid Marvin's poem and High Eight's story. Psychotick: yeurch!

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Placing a bet on that would require a braver man than I am, Gunga... er... Chaoticheart.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

I've read poems till they come out my ear. I've went and bought the Just So stories. This month's effort is up, not sure how Kiplingly it is but if I didn't post now I'd have lost my nerve completely.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Posted mine- could only go for straightforward (!) parody.

Love HB's - dammit, I could hear the original, didn't know that was a Kipling effort, was going to say I hadn't read any in my life - must have seeped in somewhere...

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Hi Hex,

Yeurch? It sounds like you just stepped in something unpleasant - still I'll take it as a compliment (I'm desperate!). As for the mancub - he had it coming.

Cheers.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Well I was trying to get 1st post in this competition, but my psychic powers didnt alert me to the fact my laptop was going to go KKAAPPPPUUUUUUTTTT!!!

So after 3 days in its engine room, changing the plugs and putting some fresh oil in. I'm back online.

Trouble is now, I need to find my backup of my splendiferous poem.

I've notice it's all poetry so mine will probably be rubbish:)

Good job I don't take anything other, than earning my living, very seriously:eek:

Interesting poems from the Chronites mind...

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Howdy,
I feel that I must explain to Perp nan and others if I seem to slip into and out of character at times. I bounce back and forth between this forum and another (Yesturday's Tractors), it's like speaking another language. I enjoy both very much but on the other forum spelling and grammer are not all that important and sometimes polite goes out the window. They are a great bunch of guys and very helpful.
So if I do happen to rattle someones cage or ruffle some feathers it only in fun, I don't have a mean bone in my body. I do need to find out what Dusty Zebra means by
"old guy" ?

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

We love characters here Bob. "Yesterdays tractors," - what's that about then:)

What? I didn't? I did? Oh no, terrible sorry, Mr. Bob sir.

Fancy calling a fellow Chronite that PM. You should be flogged at dawn:)

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

I'd imagine its to do with tractors... but, but and this is the clever bit, they were not tractors from today or indeed tomorrow... but yesterday.

Re: DISCUSSION the 75 Word Challenge JUNE 2011

Ah yes but yesterdays tractors could be tomorrows tractors today.:)
