Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

I think they'd be riveted to their seats and go nowhere.

EDIT: You put me on the spot weld there with your fast fingers Ursa!!

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

And having assisted in the diversion -- although not with the electrifying puns -- I had better get down to duty and try to drag this thread back on topic.

Three entries already, all very different. A good start to the month. If we'd had a Challenge like this early last year I'd have been very worried that the stories would all be similar -- but if we've learned anything in the past 15 months it's that we can be relied on to be very diverse (and diverting!).

EDIT: make that 4 entries -- marvin slipping in there while I was writing!

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

As long as no kittens are being put in peril....

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

Bender is more likely to be the villain than the good guy!

But then again anyone has got to be betting than the incumbent 007.

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

Good choice of topic and Genre Mosaix, slightly more up my street than Kipling..

(note to self; don't post entry after Mosaix again, his mighty tower of votes makes my zero seem ever so small. ;)...)

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

Well, I've posted amazingly early (for me) this month. I don't know what got into me. And to think that the genre is Science Fiction, not exactly my forté. These are strange times we live in, strange times indeed!

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

Some great entries already, and it's only the second of the month. I've got one up and ready, just thinking for a while before posting (also got the 300 finished-ish but that's a whole different story).

I will be getting around to my individual comments shortly, possibly to be in keeping with the month I'll do them in binary...

Just thought though I'd give a little mention to Teresa's as it made me smile just when I needed it after being up all night with nightmare ridden little boy.

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

I must say I was a bit surprised to see your entry so early TE. By the way, loving the phrase "Lilliputian assassination "

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

I just added mine. Have put more effort into it this time round and enjoyed writing something other than fantasy or poems.

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

Well, I've posted my entry. I would normally have waited longer but I was scared to death of someone coming up with a similar idea.

Anyway, now on to thinking about lights beams...

Scared to "Darth" of someone coming up with a similar idea?

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

I know we've had discussions about titles and additional comments within our stories, but now we're getting adverts.

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

We are off to a great start. It does seem though were are back to the "dark side." Most of our robots thus far are nothing short of murderous fiends who join with Darth, make their own laws, and rip our hearts out.

T. E. -- Loved your story, and your new avatar, I'm trying to Psych out it's symbolism ---- Leave to a Parson to read something into every choice.

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

Does 'wide-eyed' count as one word or two? Quick! This is a life or death matter.

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

I would think one word but it would be up to the adjudicator to decide definitively. It is accepted that "here's" is a single word but "here is" would be two.... tricky one. Hope you get the answer you are looking for.

Anyway, just back from holiday - thought Mosaix would win last months challenge (I personally liked that one the best) - Congrats to you.

Just posted my effort before any others have the same idea...

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

We'll need more than one moderator to weigh in on this before we can issue an official ruling, slack, but I think you are safe.

Re: Discussion July 75 Word Writing Challenge

Other moderator weighing in -- yep, it's one word, slack.
