We have the pieces set for the endgame. Who will win the Game Of Thrones?

Will the Lannisters prevail and keep Tommen on the throne?

Will Dany bring the Dothraki and the dragons and blitz her way all the way to the iron throne?

Will the new Targaryan prince take it? Or will he join forces with Dany?

Stannis? Maybe Jon Snow will claim the name Stark and continue Robb's work?

Or an outsider? One thing is for sure - it's anybodys game!

I bet GRRM has a surprise for us, and I think many will be disappointed! :D

I put my money on a North ruled by one of the remaining Starks and a South ruled by Targaryan.

I think there is more to it than just who will win the game of thrones. The series is called A Song of Ice and Fire after all.

I think something bigger is going to happen, something to do with the winter and the walkers coming over the wall.

All petty games are going to become unimportant against the encroaching cold and the one thing that will stand against it is dragon fire.

The winner of the game of thrones? No particular family but an amalgam of those who survive winter.

Left out in the OP was the possibility of the iron born or Sunspear prevailing. While i don't think either is more than a remote possibility, they should be on the list.

I agree with this and to take it a little further, I have felt for a long time that it will be a unification of Ice and Fire (Starks and Targs) that will ultimately stand against the Others. I think that Jon Snow is key to this as i beleive that he bridges the gap between the two, and he will unite the 7 Kingdoms. As for the Lannisters, i think Cersei will die, hopefully at the hands of Arya, Tyrion will join with Dany, and Jaime, who knows. Maybe he will marry the Maid of tarth and sire massive numbersof average looking children :D

Stark/Targaryen decimation of the Others leading to a peaceful 7 kingdoms and respect between westeros and the dothraki.

Think you nailed it here. To win the game of thrones, you must survive what is coming and few will manage it, they must come together.

Again I agree, the Targs and Starks will join through Jon (and a possible link through Bran's abilities as well) The Lannisters as players are all but done, Tywin and Kevan dead, Tyrion will join Dany, Cersei will probably finish their destruction before she dies!
LMAO !! Beautiful Jaime and ugly Brienne! Yes massive numbers of average looking children with beautiful blue eyes! The redemption of the Lannisters!

The wall will fall. Ramsay Bolton will attack and kill most of the Night Watch.

The dead will storm across and the players for the throne will have to join forces.

I think Dany will be a part of it.

But she could well rule with a husband (or even two given the three dragons).

Her entire plotline before ADWD was about becoming ready to rule and she is the best of the obvious candidates.

I'll disagree a bit. I think Dany made a lot of mistakes in ADWD, but she always learns when she makes one. I think that she will become a much better ruler after the Meereen debacle.

I think the best ruler would be Stannis. "Just, but hard". There is no way he will succumb to nepotism like all the others.

Dany... I don't know....

None of the potential rulers is perfect, but Dany has shown more empathy, flexibility and even a touch of genius at times.

It has all gone wrong in Mereen, but the point is that is not 'her' city or even her continent.

I believe Dany will make a good leader. She has a rare quality for leaders in that she admits (to herself and others) that she doesn't know everything and she learns from her mistakes, rarely repeating them.

Jag is right that Mereen could never be hers. Our own world history is full of examples of what happens when someone tries to rule a totally foreign culture, it does not go well!

nothing wrong with empathy, but unfortunately empathy in a king/queen may lead to an arbitrary ruling.

Better to be firm and just.

Yay for the return of your old avatar :D

I don't think it will be any one House.

Westoros used to be seven distinct kingdoms. While I don't think it will return to being so, I think it is possible that it will be partially split. We will no longer have one King who rules all of Westoros.

There will, perhaps, be two or even three who will divide Westoros amongst themselves.

I think it will either be Jon & Dany or an ending that's not "happily ever after".

I'd have to say Littlefinger, as he seems to be playing the Game quite well

Though I still would like for it to eventually be Rickon...as he will be raised in the wild during the long night part 2 and when he grows into manhood he will be the toughest Stark ever (specially with feisty Shaggydog ) of course all this is just my own thoughts

Yeah I am waiting for Rickon to emerge back into the series. We've followed our scrappy little pup Arya's every move, but I've been waiting for word on Rickon since the day he wandered off with Osha.

I rickon (ya giddit? Oh never mind) that Rickon will turn out to be some sort of fearless angry warrior who ends up hitting puberty at like eight and has several ******* children by the time he marries Shireen at 12.
