The Winds of Winter publishing date guesses?

I seem to remember her saying the Imp in the TV series. That then only really leaves Cersei, as anyone really significant, and her fate is probably in the hands of Jamie, oh, please don't tell me Arya will change into Jamie's face, and Brienne will have killed Jamie already?

Arya has to do something important, but I can't think of anything significant for her to do, and add to that list, Sansa, what will be the end of their stories?

That is concerning, what are the stark sisters going to be doing for two more books, that would make them relevant to the overall story?

GRRM isn't going to give us the classical kind of revenge like most people expect.

The Lannisters are already paying for every single one of their sins and they haven't even been confronted directly. The only way to obtain revenge isn't just kill someone.

Agreed. Making Cersei watch Margaery, Sansa, or Daenerys be happily married with children and ruling would eat her up. When Jaime loses his other hand, watches Cersei executed, witnesses Tommen and Myrcella raped and murdered, sees Dany ascend the Iron Throne, and is told that Aerys II was actually his father, then Jaime will know that he's paid for his sins.

I think Aerys was Jaime's father, but I also think Jaime is Azor Ahai and will save mankind.

You're as crazy as I am!
haha, have you never heard that theory before?

There is some evidence to support it and there were two key scenes in the Game of Thrones TV series that foreshadowed Jamie possibly being Azor Ahai.

George Martin has been leading us to believe it is Stannis, or Dany, or perhaps Jon, but once again I believe he is misleading us intentionally.

Dany or Jon for sure, but I don't think Martin actually believes any of his readers think Stannis is AA.

There was a thread on this site somewhere that the theory of Jaime being AA came up. I might try to find it, but my research powers are not as stong as some. It's an interesting theory and would certainly prove to be a twist, while not being totally ridiculous like the end of a M. Night movie.

I for one like the theory just because I want to see Jaime run a flaming sword through Cersei's chest.

Yeah the TV series producers put in two scenes that show Jaime might be Azor Ahai.

The first one was when Stannis and Renly were meeting to discuss their upcoming battle. Melisandre was saying how Stannis is Azor Ahai and Renly laughed and said, "What is he, a ham?"

Then when Jaime was eating a meal with Brienne and Roose Bolton right when he was about to be set free (and given a rebirth), they were eating a ham.

Also, the "Red Star bleeds" thing usually makes people think of the red comet earlier in the series, but as some people realize, a comet is NOT a star.

I doubt that what producers think plays much in the books. Producers already changed a lot. It is a different story now.

Syrlanna:

It is not what they "think." George Martin is also a producer and much of the new content comes from his ideas. Anything the TV producers change has to get the okay from him. You think they just made up that "Night's King" scene that was never shown in the books? Of course not. Martin told them about extra storylines that he did not put in the books and they sometimes decide to show us some of the extra stuff.

I think your Ham connection is a bit like clutching at straws, but the theory overall is still pretty sound. I still haven't found where it was originally brought up.

You overestimate Martin's impact on the TV Show. Martin had stated in an interview that he is surprised often at how the things happen in the TV Show, the things they change. I'll even find it once I get back on my computer as I'm sure I have it bookmarked somewhere. If I recall correctly and I'm about 55% sure I do, he didn't even know about the rape scene beforehand or was not consulted about it. I don't remember that interview very well.

I also believe that they do things with little input from GRRM, he seems to moan too much about the people they have killed in the show that are alive In the books. Also one of the older tyrell brothers is due to play a big part in the upcoming books, he has never been mentioned in the show.

The ham thing is way too well thought out to just be random. They put it in there for a reason.

And this isn't just some random detail that isn't that relevant to the series. This is Azor Ahai, one of the main prophecies in the series.
