The Winds of Winter publishing date guesses?

Well if he's sacrificing Cons for it then he might very well be serious about the possibility. Still though, he might need more time than his level of resolve indicates.

I marathoned through all the Song of Ice and Fire books last summer - has been a hell of a ride so far, and I'm very much looking forward to The Winds of Winter. Tempted to re-read A Feast for Crows and A Dance With Dragons in the form of A Ball of Beasts (i.e. reading chapters from both books in in-universe chronological order) when a publishing date surfaces for the next book, to refresh myself on all the 'recent' events.

Although there seem to be rumblings of the book finally seeing release this year, I'm going to guess it'll slip a little and predict a date of February 26th 2016.

Wow, I thought my prediction was for December of this year but it's actually for December of next year. You never know with GRRM but I don't think my guess will be close. I actually thought we would never see TWOW. I just hope he can move along the plot and wrap up enough story lines to not require an eighth book.

March is probably a good one to go for. If he finishes by December then it leaves a few months for editing and publishing, and they can still get it out before series 6 airs and gives spoilers.

I'm gonna stop watching after they catch up. I've decided.

I'm going to *start* watching once they catch up and give spoilers. I don't watch much TV but I'll make time for it. I still think it's only way we'll ever find out what happens in this series. The books just aren't going to end. I already have a feeling that an eighth book is going to be added.

With overall changes they make and are going to make (like leaving out Arienne and Aegon), I doubt they can convincingly converge. If you pull out too many threads and replace them with threads of other colour, it isn't the same cloth anymore.

But both the M40 and the M1 head to the M25

From the horses mouth relating to the books and the show (taken from GRRM's Notablog)...........

'And yes, more and more, they differ. Two roads diverging in the dark of the woods, I suppose... but all of us are still intending that at the end we will arrive at the same place.'

I have read each book in the ASOIAF as it came out.I was always waiting for the next one and pre-ordered to make sure I got each book as soon as possible. Many series of books have been like this for me(I'm currently waiting for Aug 13th for Robin Hobbs' new Fitz and the Fool).
With Jean Auel's Earth's Children series ,I waited years for each new volume.
I am only worried now, that as I am getting older,I may not be around for the last book by George R R Martin.

The key word being intending. How convincing will it be in the end is another matter entirely.

After reading Dance, and checking all the release dates and reading his blog. I originally thought The Wind would blow at Christmas 2015. I now believe this to be wrong.

I'm guessing Summer 2016.

I wonder if George has any idea of the angst he is putting his readers through,as we wait and wait.........................

TWOW will have to be released before Season 6 of Game of Thrones hits the airwaves, so April 2016??, at the latest.
If it's after the show starts to air, at this point of where Season 5 ended, then EVERY new episode will contain spoilers, even if the plotlines between the show and book have deviated.
