Good news Chocco (hope you don't mind the shortening, please say if you do)!
According to my figuring we still have Abernovo, Kaladan (maybe), AnyaKimlin and Warren Paul waiting to receive their copies.
In the meantime, if we are going to start, as has been suggested, at part 3, then it might be worth beginning a pre-discussion kind of thing.
I'm sure some like me that have received the book already are having a quick read of those earlier parts and I thought it might be worth bringing up anything that they consider worth talking about from those bits, before we begin properly with part 3 (The Expository Paragraph).
For myself - I would be interested in how many of us have a 'commonplace book' or keep a journal (subjects from Chapter four) I have been putting off doing the former for too long and have never manged to do the latter. I have now started both (gulp!).
Also I found Chapter 8 - Beginning (in part 2 - The Essay) very interesting. There were some neat tricks for quickly grabbing the reader's attention in there that would be perfectly applicable to openings of novels.
Finally I'd recommend a read of Chapter 7 (part 1) - Drafts and Revision. There are some good tips for how to look at and what to look for when revising your own (or others') work.
