Well done Digs and Harebrain! I voted for Digs again. Now to wait and see, again.

Aun - that was close. Well fought!

paranoid marvin,
thanks for that last minute vote!
When I read your "Well done people" comment it came out in Ace Rimmer's voice. I loved that.
Thank you, thank you.

Now tiebreaker time, and a really difficult choice. Harebrains story masters setting, while digs absolutely nails this months theme.

After thinking though an entire cup of coffee, I decided to vote digs. It was so close but in the end I thought digs last line was stronger. And both final lines were about promises.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who gets obsessive about these things.

(I think a lot of us are checking in pretty often, just because it's so close ... and they aren't even our stories.)

I hope the two are communicating transcontinentally as to who gets the theme and who the gender in the case of another tie…

Or perhaps exchanging themes for a combined version.

Yes, I hope they are trying to come up with something mutually agreeable, just in case. (Because if they tie again, we aren't going to have another vote!) We've never had a second tie, so we've never had to use the compromise choice, but it's good to have one waiting in the wings, should it be needed.

Very close call between the two.

Personally I do not understand the story at all (which is probably why I didn't vote for it first time around), but digs gets my vote because the story is told so tragically beautifully.

Or next months contest has two themes and entrants write for which ever one suits them best.

The very same conclusions I had. Well done to both finalists.

Hey, Paranoid Marvin - 1020 posts.

*checks critiques*

Nope, nothing there. What gives?

:D

The long established (and punishable by death if not adhered to) practice of putting some of your work up for critiquing every time your post count ends in a ",000".

See Ursa? He's coming up to 10,000 and I'm expecting fireworks.

Ah, I see. Well the only 'work' I've done has either been posted in the Challenges or in the poetry thread.

But I'm sure I can rustle up something.

You'll have noted how easily I can say this to you when my post count ends in ,295. I shall look forward to it.
