Well done TSP, out of the blocks like lightning. I thought for a moment the power of Handwavium was going to catch you, though!

And thanks for the mention, Scott.

Well done TSP you romped home, but I'm upset, there is no tie breaker and I have been getting used to my two votes!

Well done TSP - nicely done!! A well-deserved win.:)

..and (Wow! Blimey!) ...

Thank You to Choccoweeble for the vote (A vote! Does sideways skip and swings ponytail in a wide circle). Glad you enjoyed it.:D

Congratulations, oh platypus one!

I didn't do a short list as I was running out of time last night, but after a great deal of thought I voted for Glitch's story which best captured the science fantasy aspect that, for me, being pernickity as usual, seemed to have been lost in a lot of otherwise very good pieces.

Thanks for the shortlistings, Boneman and choccoweeble!

Congrats Spurring. Have been busy at work and didn't spot the deadline. I would gave gone for Karn M so it wouldn't have changed the result. Thanks for the mentions.

Congratulations, and keep right on spurring! (that does refer to the males' poisoned spike on the hind foot, doesn't it? How strange a species not only to be the only naturally venomous mammal, but restrict it to the males…)

And this idea, which I suspect I could have cut down to fifty words rather than trying to wrestle the other one down from over two hundred, came to me after having posted…

Everywhen suffers from prejudice
“You are no longer to call it ‘black magic’; that could be offensive to two groups. Instead, now it’s ‘magic of colour’,” intoned the professor.

“Isn’t that like calling seawater ‘wet water’?” asked a pupil.

“There was a move to standardise, and use ‘Afro-American magic’, but this was held to refer uniquely to Voudoun. However, any specifically beneficial magic will herafter be referred to as ‘honkie magic’…”

Many congratulations, TSP!

(and thank you very much for the votes, Mouse and Teresa! Woo hoo!)

Thank you to Culhwch for another vote, and to those who short-listed my story - very grateful for the recognition!

And well done to TSP - very funny story, and a well-deserved win :)

O-oooh Chrispy,
You like walking a thin line, don't you ??
But thanks anyway for a "after the last curtain/après la chute de rideau" performance :)

Congratulations to The Spurring Platty!

And thanks to the mentions by Hex & Starbeast.

Another exciting month of curious tales. This is amazingly addictive.

Oh my!!!! Friday I got my vote in because I knew I wouldn't be on much if any.(Monday was a holiday)
I come in and discover --- I won!

So thanks all for the congrats, and Abernovo, Azzagorn, David Evil Overlord, Glitch, MemoryTale, TheDustyZebra, Warren_Paul for voting on my little story.

Now...oh dear...I have an obligation due for next month's.
