World Fantasy convention 2013

I'd love to see a full programme at this stage.

Can I ask those clever people who know what's what -- are there other talks and events or are the Kaffeeklatsches all there is over and above the dealer's rooms etc? IE is there likely to be other events I'd enjoy.

Agreed. It's hard to commit to one event when you don't know what other events are happening!

I've also signed up for the.. KK-thingy, despite not drinking coffee or tea. So I will be eating a lot of biscuits. :D

Now that I've made up kaffeekwotsit, I'll have to stock up on Wotsits too. Hobnobs and Wotsits are two of the three main food groups (Coke/Diet Coke the other) so we'll be grand.

This sounds awesome. I'll probably be bringing hula hoops?

As long as they're barbecue flavour. None of that "original flavour" rubbish ;)

So I did sign up for KK and got Joe Abercrombie and Gillian Redfearn, so I'll be the one getting his money's worth of coffee refills and biscuits. What's the betting it clashes with something really good, so I get torn in two?

Gillian Redfearn, the Deputy Publishing Director of Gollancz?

(I should be careful, BM. Springs might just decide to start lurking in dark places, waiting to steal your ticket.)

Haven't book any of the extras such as the KK's. But have just booked train tickets :) No turning back now!

Haven't posted here for ages (been lurking a'plenty) but I'm also going. I live pretty close by so I'm planning on day trips down on the Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday. I don't know anybody else who's going so hope to bump into some of you there!

I'm going too and I don't know anyone either. There's a newbie hang out area where I'm going to head to! Figure its a good place to start - there's an email address for newbies on the WFC website :)

I'll be heading there as well (already exchanged a few emails with Sue) so I may see you there!

You mean specific Chronners badges? I assume there will be convention ID badges (it's rare not to have them), so you could embellish those.

Pro tip: take a Sharpie and possibly a credit-card-sized address label/slip of paper, so you can write on the back - badges on lanyards get turned about, hiding your name and defeating the object!

Yay for other newbies :)

It'll be nice to see all. As a practical type I wonder a. Are badges happening and b. is there any sort of chrons get together planned?

A chrons get-together would be awesome :) Even if we don't have badges (although that would be cool for those of us going to the newbie section).
