World Fantasy convention 2013

Oh... and this is a weird one... but basically I have been unable to run for a while due to a knee injury. I'm recovering now, but I've only got 2 weeks before a 10km run.

If anyone is feeling intrepid, there is a 5km run at 9am on Saturday in Brighton Park. It's free to take part, but if you want them to tell you how fast you ran it, you need to register at www.parkrun.org.uk and print off a bar code which you bring with you.

If anyone fancies running off a hangover that morning, feel free to join me. I'm probably not going to be doing a brilliant time.

Off tomorrow morning! Lots to do today. Really looking forward to meeting up with old friends and making a few new ones.:D

I'm afraid it's not very good, but the best I can suggest as a chrons badge is the attachment below - simply print that out and write your chrons name, or else save and upload to a graphics program, and type your name:

I've tried to make it small enough to slip into the convention badge, but the logo doesn't resize very well. I've also added "SFF" in front of "Chronicles" so anyone who asks can know what it's for.

Even if no one else wears one, I will, so look out for that. You may notice me better for my bleached blonde hair and rock boots, though. :)

Tbh, I have to squint to read badges sometimes (and often they are in a place that just makes me feel pervy squinting at! lol) I'll print one out though, and check other people's badges. If I don't lose it....if I do, I've just put a blue streak in my hair to match what comes out of my mouth. And I'll have a penguin glove puppet and/or hairy cow about my person. Don't ask. Just come and wave at me until I peer myopically in your direction :D

Yar!

So, is the Chrons meet-up at the Hop-Poles on Saturday evening officially on? Who's pledging to turn up?

Made it a tad smaller but will be at the bottom of my badge - i'll assume any squinting is for that reason :p

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (and springs -- who's on a flight just now, I think). And I'm always up for food. I liked the look of the Hop-Poles food. Those of us who need to eat could turn up a little earlier? Or we might all be stuffed full of ruby-encrusted biscuits from the hotel.

I just printed my boarding pass. Gulp.

(and I'd like to go and get a copy of A Dance in Blood Velvet, because I loved A Taste of Blood Wine and I really liked Karl and Charlotte).

I'll be there, and can essentially get there any time. It's getting home's the problem – last bus is at seven O'clock (forget it), last train at ten. Less I can cadge a lift.
And I could go down today or tomorrow, if there were anyone to meet. Free bus pass, nothing planned, easy.

All packed and ready. Will be arriving at Gatwick some time after 6pm, so it just depends on how long it takes to get a train down, then taxi to the hotel. Will probably explore the bar briefly before getting showered and returning to bar fly. :)
