World Fantasy convention 2013

I will almost certainly* be in the bar at that point so feel free to come say hi.

*every convo I have had re the con has ended (or started) with 'in the bar'. It's the place to be. It's sort of the party-kitchen of cons.

You're so right about the bar, Francis, and good to see your dominant side coming out, Springs! :D

I'll join you if I can -- I'll be in the dealers room till 6.00 (hopefully selling loads of high quality books right up until closing time) and then I've been invited to a party immediately afterwards. I do have a load of people to catch up with over the weekend, and being stuck in the dealers room often prevents me from doing that except in the evenings. An added complication is that, being diabetic, my priority at that time has to be to find something to eat... But I will try to join you all and say 'hi' at some point. It would be great to meet folk and to put faces to names (or screen names)! :)

Point me in any direction and I'll be there... Harebrain's bar does nice food doesn't it? Apparently you have to logon with a password to even see it, so it must be good!! If the chronners eat dinner and then go to the pub, them what have long journeys home may have gone by then, maybe have soup in a basket whilst meeting up? (Can you see I'm the one at the back of the management meeting being awkward...?)

So.... When in doubt trust an Irish woman to arrange the party. For Saturday night we have:

Me
Kr green
Hex
All standing in a corner together

Harebrain, herding the corner of a nice bar

Alc ( I suspect with the the Hex/ Springs pot plant corner (hey, follow me and Hex for a party!)

Lauren 77? Are you joining us?

Boneman?

IBrian?

Lucien poll - I know the lure of the ghost stories is big but we'd love to meet you. (Dang I sort of hate missing them, but would hate missing Chrispy more. Sorted...)

Chrispy - with Harebrain in the bar

Glitch? Surely needed for a party?

Kmq/ Anne Lyle might be too busy? But if not very welcome.

Anyone else? A show of hands from conners/ Chronners? insert here... Ian? Sjab? Crystal?

Conners - place to meet? Foyer? Time - dinner first? Maybe seven?

Non conners - meet at Harebrain's bar at about 7.30?

Sound good? *

*can you all tell I really am a management consultant now? :D

It sounds good. I think I'll be able to get there. :)

I'm in too. I'm memorising the map of Brighton as I type.

Excellent! Organisation I can do. Directions... Well I spent an hour driving along the Belfast interface today to find a very obscure meeting. How someone can manage the Shankill, Falls, Parade protests, city centre and the Westlink whilst looking for somewhere five miles away... (Central locking required.)
To sum up- I'll follow you. :D

We can't get too lost; it should be pretty much impossible to go too far south ;)

Alas, I will be missing this opportunity to join a Chrons meeting by less than two weeks. I will leave UK on Sunday after over a month here on a trip, but I do have to get home.

Well, I hope you all have fun, anyway!

For anybody who is pitching up early at the con, in addition to the schedule I posted earlier in this thread (comment #323 -- can you believe how big this thread is getting? :)), I will be giving a reading from "Default Reactions", my story in the Urban Mythic anthology, at 2.00pm on Thursday in the Reading Hall 8B as part of the Alchemy Press reading cafe.

I'm also participating in the launch of the anthology End of the Road edited by Jonathan Oliver, which features my story "Without a Hitch". This will be on Sunday, 11.00 am till noon.

And, as a reminder, for anyone after a free drink and a bit of author mingling and signing...

I do hope there'll be some expansion/explanation on what some of those panels are, because some of them I've got no idea! I mean, "Strip Search" could be anything...though I find it quite tempting nonetheless :p
