Posted, remarkably early considering the last one took me days of mental brewing. A little homage to my favourite vampire stories. Loving the creativity this month! Some of you are downright hilarious, by the way :p

*Points at avatar* Thought I should probably get in on this bandwagon, too.

Starbeast – One of the best rules of life is that most of the time it is wise to remember there is always something bigger and nastier than you are, and this tale certainly portrays that. A vampire returns to activity filled with desire and bloodlust. Seems he should have paid more attention to where he was. A fit an apt reward for what he planned, now we just need someone to deal with the wolves.

BigJ – In the far flung future it seems that humans have been consumed to the point of extinction, just a small enclave that probably exists in fear, hidden from the vampires that prey on them. But now they have been found and the end is nigh. Possibly for the vampires too, what are they going to eat when all their prey is gone? A chilling tale that portrays the vampires well.

Bowler1 – A twisted delight that can be taken in so many ways – lovers under the mistletoe, one transformed by the other; a vampire who uses the excuse of the mistletoe to feed; or looking back to a time when it was more innocent, or indeed as igniting the memory of a song. Which leads to the payoff, a line that could be taken in so many different ways... Good fun and more possibilities than should seem possible with so few words.

Juliana – Another tale that is left to the imagination, although we know the truth. Office parties, fancy dress. Who knows what you will meet, from a drunken superhero to a vampire? But could it possibly be that one of the revellers is actually what they seem, that the dress is not so fancy? The last line steals it, rife with double meaning.

TacticalLoco – A timely reminder of what vampires should be all about, or should not be. Some wonderful wordplay toward the end, and a brimful of ideas else where. I particularly liked the idea of too much elf blood being the cause of a sparkle. The last sentence is brilliant.

Extra-special holiday cheer to Starbeast and Perp!

Thank you both for you kind comments.

Lola! Oh, my, that is stunningly brilliant!

...and is that Pete the Cat, by any chance?

You're merrily welcome, and have a great New Year.

Oh yeah. Thank you oh Great Comment Weaver.

If this were the 300 Challenge, I'm certain that everyone would have gone even further with their wonderful tales. I kept coming up with lots of ideas for my blood-soaked entry, and it would have been four times more shocking.

Lucky Lola - A great fairy tale-like vampire story, marvelous idea. You left me wanting more. Because I know that vampire was going to have a holly jolly Xmas.

J Riff - Vlad, at home for the holidays. Muh ha ha haaa. What a delightfully dark conversation, very well written. Corpuscula. Muh ha ha ha ha haaaa.

Thank you for the review, Perp. All I have to do now is hope for a christmas number one song to help me along.

Or... that might really annoy people.

*Blushes* why thank you! And no, not Pete the Cat. Keep guessing! Maybe I'll tell you after the voting is done ;):D

Err...I meant the avatar, not the story, for Pete the Cat....

*rethinking my daughter's Pete the Cat Saves Christmas book, in case Pete is really a vampire Christmas tree*

But no, I had forgotten, Pete is blue. ish.

Goodness! I must say, I was intrigued at the thought of a vampire cat hehehe! Nothing so fun, google image search, I confess!

I got my inspiration walking home yesterday. Finished up both songs*, now just need to pick one.

*yes I sang them to make sure the meter worked, easier to sing while walking with your mind and thoughts half numb then sitting all scrunched over a keyboard wondering what kind of a scolding Parson will give you when he sees what you've written

[Ahem!] Hope, you have certainly guaranteed a close parsonic look at your "song." [Parson awaits with trepidation.] But, be it known, this is a Parson who majors in grace not law.:)

Scolding from Parson? What, does it contain Language, Nudity, Violence, and Sex?
