Discussion thread -- 75 WORD WRITING CHALLENGE January 2013

It's getting down to the wire here, and several people still haven't voted.

Another difficult choice this month, whittling the entries down to a shortlist, though there were quite a few I loved for their feel but when it came to it I didn't understand them. (Though that's not unexpected for me and cyberpunk!)

Anyway, my shortlisting:

BigJ -- Finding Self -- I loved the last line
Culhwch -- Pop Up Blocked -- for its sadness at its unending going-nowhere life
David Evil Overlord -- Children of the Evolution -- sinister
digs -- The Surgineer -- for the pathos of the final two lines
mosaix -- The Colour of My Days -- an enigmatic ending
Phyrebrat -- The Graft -- I liked this for the feeling of the city as much as the casual "then her hand"

After a great deal of cogitation and tossing of coins I've plumped for DEO as I loved the whole concept (and he gets a prize for the title, too!).

And special mentions to Aun Doorback for the punny last line and to HareBrain for Ebola Tombola...
