Right, will be sending out emails as the roast does - starting in about 10 mins. So stand by! Once all teh emails are out, I'll post the first part of each story and we can begin the guessing game! (Note, no 'guessing' the one you received - that would be cheating, because I'll be telling you who write your gift! )

Also, to the person who gets mine, I possibly don't understand the concept of 'short' in 'short story' so apologies if it feels rushed because my brain can't pace like that!

Okay at least half of these have no clue as to who they are for, or who they are from. (ETA actually most of them..)...either one would do, as I could then match them up, but without either, I'm stymied.


(I didn't really check that earlier -- my bad -- I just popped them in a separate folder in my email after I checked the attachment worked.)

Of all the stories I have, I've managed to match two so far (of the others I CAN match, I don't have the email to send to, because...either because they haven't sent in a story, or I can't figure out who they are). Mouse, yours was one, and your recipient named themselves. Victoria I managed cos her email matches her name....

I had put my user name in the subject line and the recipient's in both the subject and body of the email. However, I also just put the story in the body of the email. Do you want me to resend it as an attachment?

And I got my gift thanks! I thought we were to guess who it was from though...

Sorry I fell asleep* at the crucial moment. But I got mine alright and am glad things sorted themselves out allright in the end.
It's killing me not to read it, but i want to be able to see if i can guess as its by someone whose voice i dont know if i i know.

I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who forgot to mention in the email who I was on Chrons! I sent my email, shut off my computer, and immediately thought, uh oh, she might need my TDZ on it, so I got in the iPad that was still on and PMd that to be sure.

Then I went to bed (it was 2:00 am when I finished my story) and immediately thought, uh oh, I wonder if she can open an ODT file? But I guess that came out ok.

I haven't read mine yet, as I still have many things to accomplish today and I want to be able to relax first. I can't wait!

I do hope that the story I wrote makes sense in the light of day. I've begun it at least half a dozen times, with different things (maybe I'll post those after it's all over), and though I finally managed to finish it somewhat past the last possible second, it's not as fleshy as I have it in my head. I am going to rewrite it the way it's meant to be, but hopefully it will be good this way as well.

Argh! It is almost done! We have another dying relative (these things come in swarms!) So was visiting them all during my writing time yesterday and then had to work on this insane little pony, meet up with our fencer and then go and see the puppies (goodbye 3 hours!) So if I can still send it in then you shall have it tomorrow, when I WILL be writing, and booking exams and sorting things out, but it shall be done! I am so annoyed by how hectic May was -_- my apologies to you all

I am so sorry you have so many bad things happening right now. Obviously a writing exercise comes after all of that actual life stuff. Just remember, it will all get better and I am sorry for your losses.
