Discussion -- 300 Word Challenge #9

Thanks, Starbeast. I challenged myself to write some more-traditional fantasy for this one, especially since I haven't written much of anything lately.

I really seem to be taking this little break from commenting to seriously, it seems to, in some bizarre manner, distracting me from actually writing the stories themselves.

Anyway, I hope I've corrected that, and here comes the 300.

Anne Martin -- a dark, romantic fantasy

Phyrebrat -- an eerie ghost story

The Spurring Platty -- a poetic, sad fantasy

johnnyjet -- an unusual combination of fantasy and science fiction

Perpetual Man -- a somber, powerful fantasy

Some great stories up already...one for sure on my short list.

Unusually, I've written two pieces. Can't decide which to go for...

A belated thanks to Vicky and Eloise for their kind reviews. Liking a lot of these stories. Seems like everyone started off complaining about both challenge topics this month, but the extra effort resulted in better stories.

I also say a belated thanks to all the well appreciated reviewers!

I think it will take me a while to whittle down my voting choices. Still lots of time left for new entries to stir things up further...

:) Thanks for you lovely comments, SB.

You're welcome Phyrebrat. Good stuff.

Thanks for the kind words, Starbeast. ;)

You're welcome Grizzgreen711. Keep up the good work.

I also say a belated thanks to all the well appreciated reviewers!

You are very welcomed AJB, I enjoy doing them. Nice to see other reviewers too.

Everyone needs a break now and then, just relax. Sit in a lawn chair and sip on your favorite beverage. It's only natural to have phantom-feelings to write reviews after you have been doing them for a while. Plus having two challenges this month is double the fun for everyone.

Now for your review.

Perpetual Man - A blazing fantasy about the final day of magic, with titanic imagery that would be fun to see on a big screen. Sad, yet a powerful drama which contains the mention (and hint) of SFFC members, nice touch.

Wow! Thanks for that review SB. Made me feel all too human, for a few hours!

Will now return to the relaxing, or sleeping. Whichever comes first.

Well, I've decided to give the 300 word challenge another crack.

Although my word count is barely scraping 200, it's about as much as I can put into a poem to be honest.

Just discovered this forum. What a lot of supportive, creative people there are here. I'm so impressed with the quality of the entries. Looking forward to voting for my favorites!

Welcome Heather. I was browsing the internet 6 years ago and somehow found this site; it has been my home ever since.

The forum members on this site really are nice people, and will do everything they can to help.

Paranoid marvin's impeccable rhythms make me feel as if I'm channeling Dr Seuss! (And I'm a big Seuss fan.)

Entries just keep getting better and better here --

Thank you, Victoria. You say the nicest things. :)
