Catching up with reviews:

Boneman -- A charmingly lighthearted comedy of errors.

TheDustyZebra -- A beautifully written tragic love story.

mosaix -- A subtle tale of the dangers of exploration.

Fitzchiv -- A moody story with a slowly growing sense of horror.

The Judge -- An eerie chiller with a great deal of local color.

Ursa major -- An unusually introspective space adventure.

jastius -- A strikingly imaginative fantasy, full of wonders.

thankyou victoria! :) wasn't sure it came out okay..
it was very difficult this challenge .. ended up writing five huge ones and this was the only one i could tear to bits to make it fit.. for some reason whenever i see all that green i want to write about sherwood forest and the secret garden and tarzan and stuff.
i always love your reviews

I know each story should be judged in isolation, without reference to the others but guess what? I'm too human to be able to put them completely out of my heads as I read the others. I apologise for this failing; it left the 'men putting down roots and getting into photosynthesis' stories coagulating into a block, which is unfair, but how to avoid it?

Which left my short(ish) list getting:-
David Evil Overlord's Mountain inversion
farntfar's Cool deforestation (Hmm, seem to be several very recent additions – could it be that I'm getting jaded with our long term contributors's styles?)
jastius' Mermaid (I don't see how that grew from the picture, but inspiration, not slavish attatchment has always been the three hundred word indication)
Juliana's Warrior tree
martin321's amateur time traveller
Mr Orange's Very British explorers (there were some interesting spoof takes this time)
Phyrebrat's Chickory cemetery
Rafellin's Culling philosophy
TheDustyZebra's Loving painting
The Judge's Hickory dickory.
Tisiphone's Angel sapling (Yes, we know where the emotion for that one was garnered, but does that make it any the less moving? Come back to us in the snow, little seedling).
Tywin's Like lethal, man

Many thanks Glen, for the vote, and to martin321 and johnnyjet for the mentions.
