Discussion - 300 Word Challenge #11

Fair to say I've struggled with this one, and now face even more struggle deciding on votes.

Thank you johnnyjet, for the listing among your favorites.

I'm still working on mine and am glad we have until the 15th as this is HARD. I suppose it would negate the whole purpose if we voted for ALL of them :p but I sure wish I could.

Almost forgot to come in and add my lists, after voting!

Brilliant entries. I thought picking three would be easy... It wasn't.
Lots of people turned into trees this month ;)

SHORT LIST:

Bowler1 - For the mystery and intrigue
Tisiphone - Clear emotions from a deep place
TheDustyZebra - Very smooth piece, so readable
Mosaix - 13 days in 300 words! Great idea.

RUNNERS UP:

Martin321 - So very nearly had a vote. Your entry was great fun with perfect pace. I really liked the line: "... spider crossing a patterned carpet."

Glen - I really liked how different this was. It reminded me of The Matrix as well as how I used to feel when I worked in a bank! Some wonderful language in there.

Brev - Your characters were believable and I felt that your dialogue was some of the best.

VOTES:

Juliana - The Tree-Sworn: Your tale felt complete. You gave us history, intro, character development, substance and a satisfying conclusion. It was like a full novel, condensed.

Rafellin - Avert: Three dimensional characters, an original idea and a strong message. Awesome entry. I had to look up "conurbation" - what a cool word!

The Judge - Strange Fruit: Wow! Heavy stuff, executed with skill. I confess I didn't understand on my first read, but I am so glad that I re-read it. A solid voice telling a haunting tale, well done TJ.

An orange and chocolate Halloween cookie.:)

To those who mentioned me, thanks. The stories were all excellent and it was hard to pick out a shortlist, let alone decide on the votes.
