Discussion - 300 Word Challenge #11

Remedy -- This tale of the distant future uses a unique viewpoint, and allows the reader to empathize with an unusual protagonist. We are also reminded of the ways in which our blunders can have tragic consequences.

Thank you Victoria! :)

I can see that your reviews are something to look forward to in each competition.

I'll have a go:

Victoria Silverwolf - A new vantage on Greek mythology. Through the courtship of brilliant minds, we find that there are no limits a loyal partner will entertain in acts for their love.

Thanks, Victoria. :)

Good entries in. Springs, that's a dark one! Understated horror, leading to blessed escape.

well got my story up... not 100 percent happy with it but it wasn't getting any better so at least now i can concentrate on other things...

Mr Orange -- This wild spoof of pulp adventure stories amuses the reader with hyperbole. Beneath all the tomfoolery is the vital message that single-minded devotion to an abstract idea can lead to unintended consequences.

Thanks for the review, Victoria. You always make it sound so much better than it is!

thanks for the great review victoria. as alchemist says, you always manage to make my stories sound better than they are!

p.s. glad you found a message underneath the tomfoolery - i was only really going for tomfoolery! :)

I'm in, one picture and so many different ideas.

indeed, and a lot of good ideas. i'm just pleased i can relax now and read the rest of the entries. until i post my story there's always a nagging fear whenever i look at the challenge that there's going to be a story already in there exactly the same as the one i'm planning!

Very unlikley I'd say, but I know the feeling. Yet Alchemist has also looked at the picture and also come up with a green lifeform, but I wouldn't read too much into that us being Irish and all, we see far too much green in everything! :D - More green!

completely irrational i know but it's always at the back of my mind when i read the posts...

Bowler1 -- The author creates a genuinely alien feeling in this eerie tale of a strange environment. When facing new challenges, one must always be prepared for new dangers.

johnnyjet -- This unusually subtle and gentle tale of dystopia creates a feeling one might call nostalgia for the future. Perhaps the best one can hope for is a small, isolated place of content within a hazardous world.

Thank you, Victoria, for a fair review as ever.
It might grow into a short for me as well, I'm still thinking about the idea.

Thanks for the mini-review, Victoria.

Now that I've posted my entry, I took the time to read the other stories, and I have to say that the overall quality is very high.
