Discussion Thread -- SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE -- December 2013

Wow, I had a tough time this month; there were several I loved equally and it just seemed extra hard to make that final choice! Anyway, in the end Phyrebrat's snowflake took the vote.

My shortlist:
springs
RoninJedi84
Perpetual Man
Victoria Silverwolf
David Evil Overlord
TheDustyZebra

I'm having a difficult time narrowing my list into something short. Plus I'm having a tough time choosing a winner.

I've read and stared at the stories for over an hour and a half, and all I'm getting is a headache.

I'll try again tomorrow. I'm taking a break.

Ha! That was me last night, except after 45 minutes, I forced myself to a decision and went for Juliana after shortlisting springs, mosaix and Tywin.

Thanks to Perp for the shortlisting, and mosaix and Mirannan for the votes! It's nice and close now...

What a luck escape I've had! Thread Bear's already as insufferably smug as it's possible to be (after seeing his own face on that envelope).

It is time to pass on the late Christmas present of a vote! :D

Boy you people don't make this task very easy do you? :p

After careful consideration, over a few glasses of red, I have whittled down my selections.

So avoiding Santa's naughty list this month are:

Boneman ~ Keep the faith, brother
Bowler1 ~ A Broken Faith
RoninJedi84 ~ Ye Of Little Faith
Remedy ~ Like Father, Like Son
Perpetual Man ~ Revelation 21:4
pyan ~ Per Fides Ad Astra
Culhwch ~ Eulogy
Phyrebrat ~ Missy's Last Day Out

And the prize of the vote goes to RoninJedi84, well done :)

Thanks to paranoid marvin for the kind words and kinder vote! And to Juliana for the mention, as well!

martin321 -- One Beamed Every Minute
Victoria -- Ceremony
pyan -- Per Fides Ad Astra
johnnyjet -- Nanowishes
*Parson -- A Step of Faith* (Truly, as someone said, it was an entire pulp magazine tale in 75 words)
Abernovo -- Keeping the Spirit Alive
alchemist -- Innocence Regained! Only $199!
mosaix -- Just Another Victim
TJ -- We Can Believe It For You Wholesale (extra bonus points for the fabulous title)
Tywin -- The Mail

I have actually voted - I thought I'd better do it, because time keeps running away from me and I wanted to do it before time ran out. When I was reading through one gave me a kick in the stomach so that was the one I went for. Take a bow Phyrebrat.

As for a shortlist well... I could write one but it would mean nothing other than a list of everyone who took part this month. If you took part consider yourself shortlisted. (There that even covers Alc. from earlier ;))

And thanks to Mith for the mention.

Thanks to johnnyjet and TDZ for the listings! :)

Thanks for the mentions, Mith and telford, and for the shortlisting, TDZ...*

* I'm hoping getting my name in bold means this, anyway.... :D

Many thanks for the listings from JohnnyJet, Telford, TDZ, and Perp (hey, I'll take what I can get).

Phyrebat, I loved your review, thanks for taking the time to give that feedback.

These were all really good...one of the best complete months in my opinion

Shortlist

Martin321
RoninJedi84
Juliana
Monsterchic
Tywin
Johnnyjet
Abernovo
Tinkerdan
Alchemist
HareBrain

My vote went to Tywin for his touching story. Any of my listed could have got the vote and pretty much every story could have been on my list. So here's to you all!

Bowler1: Nannybot is back again and this time she's/it's got a different task, slaughtering different humans. Well, that's my take on in.

That's the right idea ok Phyrebrat. My punch line was not as good as it could have been, the risk of posting in haste I guess. Yet I'm delighted you remember NannyBot from before, still with a few chips loose and not a robot you'd want to meet down a dark alley, unless your good of course? Are you on the naughty list, have you been good?

Alchemist, your welcome and the best of luck.
Thank you Mith and Johnnyjet for the mentions. You needn't fear dark alleys, or barmy robots for a while.:D
