Discussion Thread -- SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE -- December 2013

Oops - didn't realise it ended tonight!

VHC: Perp, Parson, Victoria Silverwolf.

Vote: Mosaix

The main poll does close tonight - in just over 20 minutes for those who've not yet voted - but your vote may mean the process continues for a couple more days.

Thanks for the review and the shortlist Chrispy ... that's a way better title than mine ... vote went for Tywin ... simple tale of unyielding faith.

The poll is now closed. Back in a moment....

* Goes to see what the result is. *

And it's a three-way tie, between Victoria Silverwolf, Tywin and mosaix. (Well done, you three.)

A tie-breaker poll will appear shortly.

Ha! That was me last night, except after 45 minutes, I forced myself to a decision

I needed more time think. Then I voted hours before the poll closed. This was one of the rare times it took me forever to decide.

Awesome stories everyone! Tons of great drama and fantastic imagination.

Winner - Telford

It was this intense science fiction tale that struck a cord in my mind, and ultimately displays an excellent test of faith, just before death. There were other tales this month that showcased this idea, but I kept returning to Telford's magnificant entry. Well done sir.

Pyan -- Thanks for the short list, and a very short list it was too.

Starbeast --- I'm a finalist!! Thanks muchly.

----

My tie break vote is easy. I nearly voted for Victoria the first time around. This time I did.

Thanks Alc for the short and Beasty for the vote. Did not expect anything for my ordinary entry, so all the more appreciated.

Well, it seems a tossup whether it's a "fina-listing" or a "final-isting", but thanks for whichever, Starbeast! :D

Oh, dear. All three of the tiebreaker choices were on my shortlist. Must debate longer.

When I saw "tie-break" and thought it might be between Victoria and Alchemist, I had a terrible flash-forward to a whole day of coin-tossing and weeping.

But seeing the actual tie-breakers, am I any better off? Do I vote for the story I voted for first time around, or the one which was my initial choice of two finalists?

There's one way to decide ...

A three way tiebreaker! Exciting!

A quick thanks to Pyan for the mention, and to DEO (I think a stealth vote there. It reminds me I have a picture to put up for you soon).

I voted for Tywin, but it was a very hard call, all of them really said something. In the end I just went on instinct.

Thanks for the listings/mentions to ratsy, Ursa, and Starbeast. :)

I'm amazed at the amount of mentions this month. Considering the quality of the entries, I'm very happy. Right off to look at the tie-break. This isn't going to be easy.

I like it, when there's a tie-breaker poll, when one of the challenge entries is one for which I've already voted: saves a lot of soul searching. Hence my vote for mosaix's entry. :)
