I have sent in my story. The request was quite a challenge, and what resulted was structurally different from what I usually do. I'm not crazy about what I wrote, but it will have to do.

Sorry gang, I am not quite done yet. I am working on it right now. I think I have around another 800-1000 words to go yet....and it's my wife birthday today so we shall see how much I get done. I got up early and wrote around 1000 words this morning, and I am going to keep going.

It's only 9:20 in the morning here so I have lots of day to spoil my wife with attention now.

Well, 7k into my second story idea, I have trashed it and gone back to the original. <sigh>

My story was becoming a novella and I would end up keeping everyone waiting. This way I can go shorter and still hit the stimulus I was given.

i hit a few plot tornadoes myself.. but it seems to fit nicely so am keeping going with it. hopefully the cracks will be spackled over shortly.
