Sekrit Santa 33 1/3

Not if he can find a smug condescension smiley.
I was all ready to be impressed that he beat Springs in, then I remembered she's spectating this round.

Yes, I had that exact conversation with myself, when he sent his story! :D

I guess it's enough that I made him send it twice. It had suffered a mysterious loss of words along the way, the first time.

thirteen? .. sounds like some exams i have written.. now just add about five pages of filler, deo, and you will be done :D ..

some filler like...

REDRUM

I have my story, mostly. Had to go back and reread a ton of posts to get kindling for the idea, but it took spark. Now to find time to write it!

I've just finished. Of course I now have to type it up, and as it is in hand I'm not sure how many words I am up to, but I feel I actually might beat the end of the month.

Wow Perp. I never write on paper. I just dont do it. I would try to read it after and have no clue what I wrote.. I should have been a doctor with my handwriting.

Do you write on paper often?

me, i couldn't write without paper. all my starts are on paper.

Insperation smacked me in the face today

Nonvoiced insperation *cackle*

I'll sleep on it and doodle it out tomorrow.

*evil grin* such fun such fun.

Heh.

Obviously when I was younger all the time, then type things up on a typewriter (and this was me playing around more than doing anything serious), but once I had access to a decent computer (probably a commodore Amiga) I started writing directly into a word processor.

Recently I have not been happy with what I was turning out, so decided to shake things up by writing directly onto paper with a pen.

It's an experiment I guess, I'll see the results when I have this typed up and can read through and compare it.

(I am suddenly hit with the 'if I'd typed this as I was writing, I would not have to do it again now... feeling though!')

Think of it as a built in first edit :)
Thats how I always treat paper written things I write.

Hey, that was my first computer! The first in my house, that is, as opposed to the Apple IIes and Trash-80s at school. And the dot-matrix printer with the paper that had holes on the sides to guide it along, that was awesome. :D

I end up writing a lot of stories out in my little green notebook while I'm in the field, traveling, or sitting through long meetings that don't apply to me or my organization. It does work as a good first edit when I transfer it into MS word.

It also feels nice to type out full pages at a time as I transcribe it. Makes me feel far more productive than I really am.

Although I have my premise and overview, I haven't been able to start.

I was meant to be going to Senegal next week but my partner isn't back from Sudan and has asked me to cover his classes. All my plans for this half term week have been squished!

I really should try and write in the evening when I get home but have been exhausted; back, hips and boot are screaming so even sitting at a desk hurts!

Oy. I'm getting old.;)

However, I'm up for the challenge and not about to plea for an extension!

You can do it pH!

I am about half done I think...I know the rest of the story just need to write it. Is friday over yet?

Almost. I've got company this weekend so my plot will have to simmer. But the MC is finally showing themselves.

I was thinking I had a full week still to go but quickly realized this is a really short month and that I only had 5 days left. So I am writing and just hit 2100 words. I am getting worried the story wont ever end since I have so much more plot to go! This is a fun story though and I am loving doing it.

How is everyone else doing?
