Nothing in ten seconds? You're doomed, man, doomed! :D

Definitely been more than 10 seconds now, there was sleep in between then and now... Most certainly doomed

(Perhaps I should spend less time recording the time that I have spent not having an idea, and spend the time ignoring the time and thinking of an idea - I reckon I'm onto something here.) ;)

I have no ideas yet so this weekend I am going to sit in my office at home and read some Edgar Allen Poe, Darwin, the Bible, Calvin and Hobbes, Green eggs and Ham, and then top it all off with some Scotch....if that didn't throw everyone off then I don't know what will!

reading robbie burns for the scotch or robert louis stevenson? :D
ratsy why don't you use the tom thomson story? he was of scottish descent...

Wait, I need to write that down.... It might come in handy for the Challenges. :D

Yes, there's something like seven hours left to finish my 300, in case anyone is counting.

Oh.

Less time recording the time, right.

need to stop waffling on the three hundred and get mine in too, dusty..
(darn neil gaimon stealing my ideas before i even thought of them...)

Did the idea come within ten seconds?

No; it took twenty-five at the very least. My muse is not lightning fast, but she's methodical; I'm up to 230 words already, and she's still shouting inspiration into my brain. And we don't even have to stop at three hundred!

Which means I can get it all wrong, rewrite, change my mind and move onto a different story and still be within deadline.

Bah! That Chrispy, sitting all comfortable on his ideas and words and sentences. How sweet that tap-tap-tap of the keyboard must sound in his ears... ;)

I've had my assignment for a bit, I have my idea formulated in my pea-sized brain, and now I just need to write some stuff down. I'm about to embark on a week-long trip for work that should be chock-full of mind-numbing meetings that don't really apply to me. Should be a perfect time to knock out a literary classic.

Sorry, did I give the impression I had finished the story?

Many apologies, I meant to say I had finished thinking about it.. ;)

Ha!not just me then. I have notebooks full of - um -non-meeting stuff.

I'm very much enjoying the spectating but, honestly, is no one finished yet? Slackers. :p

Im going to be doing research for mine. I got a good one to help me stretch and grow as an author.

:)

Well, I've actually started now, but am trying a bit of an experiment. (It actually started with the last thing I wrote, but I'm carrying on with it) and am actually writing something.

By which I mean writing, writing as pen on paper as opposed to typing away.

I just wondered whether being forced to think a little more as I write makes a difference to just banging it out on the keyboard.

I got an idea! - Hurray! :D

Got the plan down today, I will begin tomorrow.

(I'm going to get into trouble for getting distracted from my novel)

Word count : Zero

Ideas : Zero

But that may be because i havent thought of it yet. Good thing we get a month!

(Grins) Word count 1,399. I know how it ought to end, but it shows no evidence of wanting to get there.

Ideas, plural? For that length, I only need one idea, then my muse can lean back and make sarky comments. The rest is detail; nasty, time-consuming detail. And editing.

But I will get it done.
