What are you working on right now?

Trying to decide whether I prefer Naralis or Nalaris as a city name.

And also writing a bit of Sir Edric and the Plague.

Naralis or Nalaris
I sometimes get my Kindle to read stuff
Na-'-ral-is seems to me to be intuitive. I had to stare at Nalaris and decide if it was nal-'-ar-is or na-'-lar-is

Maybe though you intended nara-'-lis, which works for me too, I suppose.

My rule of thumb is that if it trips the reader it's wrong unless intention is to trip reader.

Awaiting the editor's comments on Hand of Glory... *gulp* then will be editing.
Two WIP need attention.
Two short stories need to be begun as the deadlines for both are approaching.
I need to get my rear end in gear big time.

SAlt-Gr
diacritical alert!
the Alt-Gr key does SO much more in Linux, in Windows I only got áéíóú, virtually every key has two AltGR symbols now. Also I've mapped "Caps Lock" to UNIX / DEC "compose" function so Caps A E = Æ and Caps a e = æ etc. It's too easy now.

Hmm. Useful feedback. Long way to go, though, so if anyone else has a view, do let it be known. Don't hide your opinion under a bushel.

So I've toyed with writing up my WIP backstory as a collection of short stories, then lost enthusiasm.

Now I'm possessed by the idea of writing it all into a mini-novel to begin the series with.

Even better (?!) it means I can cut out backstory details from WIP1 to make the whole thing read faster and more smoothly.

The only thing is, I've already begun to query WIP1. Maybe I'll have to hurry up and finish WIP0!

Wrote about 1200 words this weekend in my WIP. I still don't have a title for it and I'm nearly done the first draft. I find that kind of strange.

Ratsy, the title was one of the last things I did for Bane of Souls [which worked out alright].

Cheers, Wruter.

I have a complete draft zero that still doesn't have a title. Just known as Gumshoe Paladin. And I should be re-reading it now so I can work out where to put the polish. Or working on my Barbarian project. In fact, nothing I do has a title until I'm trying to push it somewhere.

Instead I'm talking to you guys and writing random scenes from a new idea because I has no attention span. Oops. Still... it's all improving my style, I hope.

edit: p.s. I would also go with Naralis as a city name.

The misadventures of the Dark Lord. The Minion and he are about to come across a real bad night in an inn. Think of all the old rpg "meet up in a tavern" ideas and then throw in a few more.

I'm not writing anything at the moment. It feels like I'm skiving.

Just started research on my newest book. Its a vampire tale set in the Wild West. Decided I would take a break and do something more fun and loose. I'd say it's The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly meets Salem's Lot. A vague outline is complete.

Shifting focus from writing to polishing and marketing. I'm changing my viewpoint of release schedule for the books I have already written to be 1 to 2 months apart (I can't do it quicker!) instead of 3 to 6 months. The paper editions are more time consuming. In future I may standardise on using the CreateSpace template for page size and margins etc (for 6" x 9") from first draft onwards instead of A4 as the eBook creation doesn't care about source page size and margins.
