What are you working on right now?

I'm working on my second story for 'Enter the Apocalypse' found on subgrinder and published by TANSTAAFL Press. The second of the three sub calls is 'Enter the Aftermath' and the third is called: 'Enter the Rebirth'. Neat concept, decent rates.

Hand of Glory revisions done. Sent back to publisher, *gulp*. Putting together a list of places and people, along with publisher, to send it out to review.
Working on website and blog posts to promote Hand of Glory.
Short story, Christmas themed, half done. (need to get that finished this week.)
Short story for the map anthology to write this month.
WWII novel to begin working on again. I have combined books one and two into one. I need to start editing it, re-writing sections and adding sections and more importantly working out where the story is going lol.
Sequel to Hand of Glory,(minor characters now main, a bit of a switch round.) to work on. It's early days with this, but the story is quite solid in my notes.
I have a number of ideas brewing in my head as well, so need to actually put down some notes.

Currently in the drafting phase of my first novel still. I have ideas in my head for quite a few other stories, but I need to finish this first one first. I want to get some experience with finishing a story.

Continuing the editing slog which includes all sorts of nitpicking stuff like excising 'weasel words' and making sure that if 'the queen' or 'the king' is included as the substitute for the definite article as in a particular king/queen, it is capitalised as I've checked up and that's the rule. Ho hum.

Having a few celebratory drinks after completing the final scenes from the second draft of my first novel, Beliefs: Baptism, and sending it out for others to tear apart. For so long I didn't think this day would come.

I know exactly where you're at, sounds like we're at very similar points. For me, it's about finishing the story, yes, but also learning how I got here, so I can get here quicker next time by repeating what worked in the end.
Come join me, it's a great feeling! (y)

... will be really pleased to self publish it!
Yeah, I know that feeling! I am quite torn between funding a decent version of my novel and self-publishing, or sending it to publishers; I guess if my beta-readers love it, then I'll send it on to the publishers, and if they kinda-don't I'll self-publish as there'll be someone out there who'll want to read it. Or am I being really gauche and naive? Of course, if they hate it then it goes in the round filing cabinet!

Have had several tries over the years with incarnations of this book so I've decided the DIY approach is the way forward. But obviously with it re-edited very intensively so that it's as good as it can be.

Don't round file anything unless you've had a total condemnation from a lot of people ... there can be people who love things that others hate with a vengeance. I don't zap anything much - every time I start a book, I create a 'cuts doc' for any substantial bits that I remove from the MS. You can always go back or rework for something else and you don't have to feel it's gone for good.

Today was the "Create my Turtle Shell" day <Chris Fox reference>
Tomorrow, I begin my Libby Hawker plotting, and soon into the realm of writing my first non-NaNo novel (say that three times fast.)
I will begin my Clockwork Wuxia Action Fantasy novel, and pray that I plow all the way through to the ending.

I'm working on the first draft of my first novel. The goal is not to publish, but to practise finishing and polishing. It will eventually go up on Wattpad (once it's been vigorously edited)

Working on a new chapter for Traitor's Prize. Only a mini-chapter at the moment, so may leave as is or expand it. Got another short chapter to add (or increase an existing one) with perhaps my favourite POV character.

Cathbad, even a bad review's better than none. Glad you liked Lake Manor :)

Hello. Yes. I'm working on a collection of urban fantasy short stories. The Olden family are shapeshifters who live in western Washington state. The stories center around matriarch Nina Olden (the Snowy Owl), and her three grandchildren: the eldest, Josiah Olden (the Grizzly Bear), the middle brother, Sherman Olden (the Timber Wolf), and the youngest, Kate Olden (the Mountain Lion). Think contemporary Bonanza/The Big Valley meets Supernatural. Or something like that. :)
