48 In so far, lots of reading and deciding to do tomorrow. It should break the 50 I think, there are always a few late posts.

Since I'm not a pumpkin yet... The Springs' jury has listed:

Alc - ok, I didn't get it but Mr Springs and Teen-Springs convinced me of its cool-merits :D
Telford - I had a good snigger
Big J - and this I laughed outright at
Crystal Haven - I loved this from the first moment I read it
Sleepy Dormouse - yep, we know that dance... ; nicely done

My vote went to the one I loved from the start - Crystal Haven (enter more! I love your entries!)

Alchemist (the old raver), Hex, Starbeast, Remedy, Parson (somewhat worrying), Aun (I liked the reference), Mosaix (Vote), Sleepy and Ursa.

It was hard to whittle 50 down to a shortlist as the dance theme was a challenge that everyone rose to. Good luck everyone.

Wow! A vote!

Thank you so much, Springs. You've made my day. I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

Yup, just as I thought, the idea morphed into making more bread in the hope of the idea getting better, but no, it never happened. I shall enjoy reading everyone else's and voting :)

Great stories as always, but I really felt the hemispheric divide this month. A lot of myths and folklore were referenced (celtic I'm assuming?) that I've never had exposure to, so some of the stories were hard for me to follow. Reading them at the end made me want to re-submit with something covering American folklore. Paul Bunyon, Pecos Bill, and Johnny Appleseed on a reality show together or something.

Anyway, here's my short/long/middling list and my vote.

Victoria Silverwolf –Ladies’ Night. I really liked the tone of this one.

Remedy – The HornySatyr. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Martin321 – The LastDance. An interesting play on words. The story takes a completely differentmeaning when the reader gets to the final sentence.

Parson – The Nightthe Music Died. A fun turn on the old fairy tale.

Khayos – Twelve HourShifts. Very evocative.

Mosaix – The Old OnesAre the Best… Loved this story. Mademe laugh.

Alex, The G and T –The Four Dances of the Apocalypse. I like the way you used dance for thetrials of different stages of life, and even tied them in with Revelations.Brilliant.

SleepyDormouse – The DancingNymph. Very silly. A fun angle on the ‘Dance’.

Culwch – One LastDance. Touching and heartwarming. Makes me think of my own loved ones whohave danced away to freedom. - VOTE

TDZ – The Agony ofDefeat. I loved the dialogue in the end.

Thanks, Tywin! :D Oops, and mosaix, who got in ahead of me!

The way this week is shaping up, I thought I'd better get my vote in early, before I forget what day it is.

Hex -- One Lost Girl
HareBrain -- The Boy From the East
Juliana -- The Witching Moon
ratsy -- The Event of the Year
Brev -- The Sleep Stalker
Wazkal -- Their Last Dance

Thank you very much Titanium for the Short list!

TDZ, thanks for the mention :)

My apologies to mosaix (in case he or anyone else noticed) because his name was misspelled on the poll for a while, courtesy of the auto correct on one of my computers.

I did notice, Teresa, but it really doesn't matter.

Thank you for taking the trouble to apologise.

Parson Grins!! Four short listings already?! Thanks to Bowler 1, TitaniumTi, Tywin, and The Dusty Zebra.

Thanks for making my day, err, night in this case.

(I didn't quite understand why you were worried about my story Bowler 1.)

I worry in general when a man of the cloth thinks like I do. You have a Carrie reworking in 75 words (impressive. It took S King a whole book) and kill off/disappear all the teens (no harm, the spotty freaks). I appreciate an understanding of the darker forces in life would be a good thing in your field... but still!:D

I suspect I'm labouring under some stereotyping here... but still!
