Thanks, Parson and Bowler...I now have the perfect quote for my super villain...

If only we could settle our differences in a civilised manner...with ray guns...

Hey BigJ! In fairness, I was extemporizing in my response to your note...you were correct in pointing out that Slayer was not death metal. I lived through the period and was only marginally aware of the changes in metal post Sabbath, say. I recently saw a documentary that mentioned Schuldiner...a shame his life ended so early.
Bah, I'm the one being a putz and splitting hairs. Besides, it seems, being as you were there, you are much more qualified to comment on it than I (I was only born in '87 haha).

Well hi there! I’m like, really sorry, but my uh... Uncle Mort has had to step out for a bit longer than he expected, and he asked me to look in on you, y’know? My name’s Didi, by the way, but y’can call me Dee if you wish, now I’ll show you to some of the cool cats around here!
Oh, I hope your uncle's business isn't too pressing; things tend to get so interesting when he has urgent business, and not all that pleasant for mere mortals.
Chris - Well I say. Oooh matron! I guess it must be true that death has many guises, for all we know on top of a nurse it might appear as an old skinny guy or some chirpy little chick! I’m sure there are those that might read some form of political comment within these words, but it doesn’t really matter does it? As I’m sure you have realised, no matter how you fight or ward off death, it gets you in the end.
Thanks for the com: cool. Hi-tec world, no more need for muscles or brutality. You'll cut it, even without pumping iron.
Right I got to take a break guys, great meeting you, great party and all that.... I might not be back, so have fun and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!
But you don't create, do you? The symphony of Death is written by the survivors, not those who experienced it :D

Hi,

I have my story nearly complete but something in the creative process that has not happened before ocurred this month. I won't bore you with it but for once I didn't have a resolve for the last line and so am shuffling it and tweaking.

Also, I wanted to say I just saw my birthday thread that Boneman set up - I swear I have never seen that forum before. I posted there just now but in case others are blind as a bat like me, I wanted to say thanks and that it has really, really made my week.

So, gush over; on with the screaming at kids and writing of horror :D

I deal with some of those lovelies myself, and if there was any inspiration for horror tales it would have to be trying to impart some knowledge to fourteen unruly 13 year-olds.

Thank you VS, Starbeast and CatsCradle for the kind reviews.

Anytime Brev. Keep em' flying.

Thank you for the lovely review, Starbeast. I'm feeling very happy now. :)

You are immensely welcome Crystal Haven.

Sometimes I think we should do a radio show together. We're good at stretching our brains for the masses. You're a Man of many colorful guises Perp.

Death/Fantasy
(part six)

Catullus - Firstly, nice to meet you. And second, you've done a fine job of writting a sad and artistic poetic tale that shines bright. Well done for your first challange.

Bedlamite - I am delighted to read your intense drama, about the last words of a mighty warrior that will soon depart into the next world, Heafonum. You said a lot with a few words.

Mosaix - Death strikes, and, he, is, outta here! Mu-ha ha ha ha ha! Nicely executed. I didn't expect that, awesome setup. This dark chocolate treat made my taste buds pop. You (like others), made me chuckle.

And now you have, mysteriously, managed to review a story four minutes before it was posted!

(Darn the editing notation at the bottom anyway.)

Here we have three different people, all entangled in the armpit hair of time and space. Each a witness involved in a strange vortex, caused by an alien from beyond the outer limits of our known stars in this galaxy. This remarkable encounter is explained away as a natural phenomenon, such as swamp gas, or light refraction from methane emissions. But whatever the gassy reason, all three can say, they were a participant in, the Twilight Zone.

I've always been interested in the unknown and magical illusions. But that edit control is a great help.

Now wouldn't it have been spooky if the theme had been 'time travel'? :D

That would have been a neat tie-in. Perhaps that will be the theme of a future challenge, or one in the past.

Geeze this thread moves fast.

Somehow I missed your comments on mine, Starbeast, until I scanned back, just this minute.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

You're mighty welcome Alex. Yes, people do post quickly in this thread, sometimes I have to go many pages back to see who said what when. But the posts are fun to read too.

And no one is too late to say thanks in my book. ;)

SirSamuelVimes [/B]- Wow! I mean, like, this story is a bit different isn’t it. A sword that has had a bloody career, a death bringer extraordinaire, and a grizzled warrior. I can guess that there might be some empathy between the two, perhaps even a bit of projection. The snapping of the sword somewhat symbolic of the warrior hoping it will all end?

Thanks for the review!

Ah-hah, I posted in February's thread by mistake, giant dork!!! Anyways, we've hit 54 stories for March! It's terrific to have beaten the mark for February...I wonder if we could ever reach 75 again? It's amazing that there are people who have entered almost 50 of the 75-word challenges; by the time I hit 50 (I really hope to one day), those people will be approaching 100. I will just say that I am excited to experience the voting phase...is there a betting pool?? :)

Bowler normlly looks after the Runners and Riders commentary, with Ray-guns for those who misbehave...

Wait until the 300-er - the last two polls aged me about ten years each! They last for ages, like a slow form of torture. :D

:) Sooo, there IS a downside to the voting here!! I think the torture I am really dreading is getting down from, say, 350 words to 300...I still anguish over the last 2-3 words I cut from my 75 word piece! (Well, 'anguish' is too strong of a word, but I do wish I could add 1 more word back in! :) )
