And there was me thinking using Death as a character might be a unique idea :D

Anyway, so many good stories. Maybe I’ll have made my mind up by the time I finish typing them all…

Thanks to everybody who mentioned/shortlisted mine, and especially big thanks to Glen for the vote!

and deo that was a lovely mini review. thankyou!

and karn, you stealth voted me? hurray! a vote!
how did i win out over abernovo with his brilliant valkyrie story?
are you sure you didn't mean aber's story, karn?
i mean aber is totally into horses.. he even has better legs then i do.. ;) :D

thankyou thankyou thankyou for the vote karn.. :)

Glad you enjoyed my story farntfar :)

With so many great entries, I managed to narrow it down to two: "All Souls, Or None" by Karn Maeshalanada and "Reap what you Reap" by Brev.

In the end I voted for "All Souls, Or None" by Karn Maeshalanada, though it was a really tough decision.

The name got a bit cut off at the poll there, It seems without the final E it just looked ridiculous. I rather had a laugh about that, actually. Thanks for the vote, though, holland, it was much appreciated. To imagine, an entire country choosing my work...;):D:D

TacticalLoco thanks so much for the "Also in the Running" listing. Made my day.

You should definitely consider moving there, immediately. :D (And you're not alone in having a name typo in the poll -- it appears to have been a particularly difficult one to wrangle together.)

Thanks to mosaix for the shortlisting, and to Hex for the shorter listing! I'm still working on my lists of all lengths.

This group never ceases to amaze me. We take a happy subject and a lot of us give it a morbid twist. Then we take something morbid, like death and a lot of us make a joke of it? Funny weird people we are!

Short list:
Hex: "To Dance with Death" ---- Death as a teenager? How original!

The Spurring Platty: "A Voice Beyond" ---- Great use of formatting, eerie story.

Karn (refusing to spell it wrong): "All Souls or None" ---- Makes me feel pity for the Grim Reaper, that's just wrong, you know.

Bob Senior: "Friends for Life" ---- Death as a happy Loser? Very original!

Winner: SleepyDormouse: "Summer's End" ---- Haunting and extremely memorable. A perfect use of the theme and genre.

Yes, well, we all forgot about putting the poll together until practically the last minute, and Ursa bravely stepped into the breach. I don't know how he was able to do it at all in such a short time as he had.

This month has definitely slipped by without telling anyone! We do appreciate all the hard work that goes into the poll, and the Challenges in general. Many thanks to all! :)

I see that somebody else took care of the dropped "e" in the title of Karn's story. I fixed kiffiny's name. Does anyone see any other mistakes, still in need of fixing?

As for any work involved in running the challenges, this month Ursa did all the real work.

I believe Victoria's name was off. I didn't notice anything besides that and kiffiny's. :) (I only complain about my own, and it was fine -- I just didn't want Karn to feel lonely.)

By the way, did you notice that Ben's name came back, after he got another vote? Truly odd.
