DISCUSSION -- July 2014 75-word Writing Challenge

Yay... Thank you Wordspinner, much appreciated. TDZ too, for a close call.

4 Posts and one well placed vote, I like the cut of your jib Wordspinner. I look forward to seeing some of your work on here sometime.

No Prob Bowler. I guess there was some sort of an inside joke with your story, but I didn't even need to know it to appreciate it.

I posted a few things around here so hopefully you will get a chance to read them.

Aun had a 75 word entry that came a cruel and unfair second place, even after I voted for him, which should be more than good enough for a victory, but Chrons operates a democratic forum - go figure. Anyway, Aun had a rusty shopping trolley in that I loved and borrowed for mine.

I was talking about what you write not what you post. Once past 30 posts there is the chance to share your work, if you're feeling brave, and that was what I meant. I accept I wasn't all that clear, but that's no excuse for not knowing what the GREAT and MIGHTY BOWLER1 is thinking. Ahem - I'll get my coat.

Grr! My post has been eater up by the ether.

No time to reiterate my pithy comments. (at least they were in my eyes.)

Short list

Mouse
Springs

My vote went to Culhwch. For a high fantasy story of high cost family love.

One shortlist:

Karn
Springs
ratsy
Martin321
Alc.
Mr Orange
Farntfar
michaelhall2007
Chris

I had to include Farntfar and his pepperpots for Perp jr.

All of them were very hard to choose from, and I went from one to another far too many times, but in the end I went with Chris, because it made me kaugh and I loved the word play.

womyn, I forgot how fast this thread moves when voting arrives hehe.

Thankyou Starbeast and Victoria for your minireviews.

and thankyou A. Fare Wells for the honorable :).

This month is difficult, so I will need to spend some time rereading all the entries but I already have a large shortlist so far.

Thank you for the shortlisting Perp and Perp Junior.

The Farntlettes, being essentially French, have little interest in pepperpots and the like, unfortunately.

Thank you Mr Orange for a vote and all the way from Spain too. A holiday I assume, enjoy.

Breakfast for me and my fuzzy head and some recovery from the night before.

My vote this month went to Jastius. Bowler and The Judge came close. Lovely stories, and many more I also liked but as these three were my favourites I decided to keep the list short this month. :)

My shortlist is:

Mouse - My Daughter Wants a Unicorn
*Bowler1* - The Beach is our Happy Place
Cat's Cradle - Devotion
alchemist - Leaving The Nest
jastius - She Talks To Angels
chrispenycate - Ever after?
The Judge - Interview with the Countess du Carla

My vote went to Bowler1.

Also, thanks to Ashleyne and TDZ for the votes.

Thank you so much, martin321, for the shortlisting! What a wonderful thing to see on a lazy Sunday evening! :)

And congrats on the votes for your own story, how cool!
