DISCUSSION -- July 2014 75-word Writing Challenge

My 'short' list consisted of:- alchemist's planetary spat, BigJ's fratricide, Glen's inbreeding, johnnyjet's ancestree, MatterSack's extended hominid family, Mouse's horny horse, The Judge's blood relatives, TheDustyZebra's relative rights, and Victoria Silverwolf's Siamese untwins. I ultimately voted for Mattersack's interpretation. Difficult getting anything done while travelling; did I even thank Victoria and Starbeast for reviewing me? (did I even see Starbeast's review?) This is not a situation that is going to come up often, promise) If not, thank you both very much.

Thanks are also due to farntfar, martin321 and Parson, , for the mentions, and, of course a big hug to perp for the vote!

Now, for these votes - my list says:- Abernovo, Azzagorn, BenSt,BigJ, Bowler1, Culhwch, David Evil Overlord , Glen, jastius, johnnyjet, Khayos, MatterSack, michaelhall2007, Mouse, ratsy, reiver33, Remedy, StilLearning, The Judge and Ursa Major have not voted, at hours from closing. That's nearly half; surely I must be wrong. Please.

Just voted!

Thanks to Martin, Starbeast and Chrispy for the mentions and mega-thanks to Karn for the vote!

To be honest, I didn't understand about 90% of the stories so I don't have a shortlist. It was a toss up between BigJ and Chrispy for me, and in the end I went for BigJ.

Thank you, oh rodential one, for understanding my story. I thought it might be simple enough;).

Mine is in, although I thought the deadline was midnight GMT tomorrow?Anyway:

Short list:
Victoria Silverwolf

Chrispenycate

David Evil Overlord

Gawain

Michaelhall2007

....and my vote goes to Remedy!

My vote went to alchemist for a funny story that made me smile before bed. Honourable mentions to mouse, Victoria and TDZ.

Thanks for the shortlisting SB (my first ever!!!)

Thanks for shortlistings, Azzagorn and chrispy!

And yes, StilLearning, voting ends tomorrow -- which is, technically, "hours", though more than implied above. :D

Thanks Azzagorn! And thanks to those who've mentioned my story, since my last thanks, also!

No worries Chrispenycate. Enjoy yourself. As for me, I've been occupied with basement repairs, and haven't been here as often as I like.

Thanks to Martin, Starbeast and Chrispy for the mentions and mega-thanks to Karn for the vote!

You're welcome Mouse. I understand it's not easy to squish a story into 75 words.

Thanks for the shortlisting SB (my first ever!!!)

You're immensely welcome Azzagorn.

Thanks to those who've mentioned my story, since my last thanks, also!

Anytime pal.

An exciting race here, and more excitement in the photo challenge. Have a look, it's time to vote...

AHH! Thanks again for the reminder.

Beasty, you star. Thanks so much for the final. 'Best comedy?' Wow, praise from Caesar.

My short list: Mouse, Bowler, Chris and TDZ.

But my vote went to Victoria for a great story

Some stories I didn't understand this month, and, somewhat surprisingly, a few which to me didn't meet the genre, wide as that was. Anyway, my shortlist:

alchemist -- Leaving The Nest
Bowler1 -- The Beach is our Happy Place
Gawian -- The cost of War
Juliana -- The Last Weather Lord
martin321 -- Do Matryoshkas Dream of Wooden Sheep?
mosaix -- Life Is What You Make It
Perpetual Man -- Dust to Dust

And my vote goes to Bowler for his so-poignant NannyBot tale.

Thanks for the mentions/listings Cat's Cradle, telford, Bowler, johnnyjet, Juliana, martin 321, Chris P and Remedy, and bloody big thanks to Brev for the vote.

Thanks for the mentions SB and TJ.

SB as Arnie once said, "I'll be back!"
