DISCUSSION -- October 2014 75 Word Challenge

The October Challenge is up and here is your discussion thread.

Congratulations on September's win Teresa. Wonderful challenge you've given us. I hope this month I can time manage myself to be here.

Thanks all! Tis okay - without the information about the spiders (which would have come after the voting) it made no sense in relation to the theme, so it wasn't a bad month to go out in!

You're a good sport Springs, I'll miss you here.

I'm drawing a blank so far. I guess my brain has been over worked, from working mega hours. I'm sure I'll think of something. Teresa has given us a great deal of elbow room to work in.

Starbeast! Great to hear you may be able to join the current contests! Dude, it's Halloween, you HAVE to enter the 75 worder! :)

VALIS13! Wow, terrific story...very dark, but terrific, well done!

Cheers CC. I kind of made myself sad whilst writing it. Like a weird uncomfortable feeling.

I get that Valis. I think it can be good to test those parts of ourselves - to feel indifference would be wrong.

Great job, by the way :D

Darn, I missed yours Springs.

I'm in, but have done my usual trick of writing it in two minutes flat and submitting without further thought, so probably as good as my previous offerings! I like that the 300 makes me wait so I can't rush it. But the time I submit that story it will probably bear no resemblance to the original....

Well, I like your story, Kerry! I think it's very effective, and I love the perspective it's written from! :)

Absolutely Cat's. I really want to do the October double-challenge. I've been thinking about them for months. As soon as I saw the 75 challenge, the back of my mind was chanting, "Do it, do it, do it, do it."

The muse will shine on me at any time. No worries man.

Juliana --- The author conceals an unexpected revelation in this slice of life.

Remedy -- This darkly poetic meditation makes use of a highly original series of metaphors.

Robert Mackay -- The author presents a seemingly ordinary experience from a unique and convincing viewpoint.

Farntfar's is indeed delightful! Some terrific poems this month with Ratsy's & WL's fine efforts. Victoria, beautifully written and I love the mood in your tale. And well done Robert, Ashleyene...everyone. Great stuff so far!

And thank you as always Victoria for the kind review, and for taking the time to write reviews; it wouldn't be the same challenge without them.

Thank you Victoria! :)

I like your entry - a picture well painted... For some reason it conjured up an image of Sin City.

telford -- Through indirection and clever plotting, the author treats the reader to a double twist.

HareBrain -- This surprising story convincingly captures the fear and wonder of childhood.

martin321 -- This open-ended tale of terror offers psychological depth in its narrator.

holland -- By making use of a new medium, the author creates an unnervingly believable menace.
