Discussion - May 2015 100-Word Anon Writing Challenge (#6)

My vote went to Saviour which was the easiest part of this challenge. As to who wrote which piece then here's my list ... some educated guesses and some wild flings of my fevered imagination :)

PRISONCEPTION - Titanium T

OK, so far we have a winner in the guessing stakes with CC getting three correct and one of those three was the same one as ratsy and Cascade guessed correctly. The other two are unique to CC. (y)

Sorry, Luiglin, but null points to you too. :(

Ps. I was looking forward to addressing a pile of poo at CC after his comment above, but he's stymied me by being so good at guessing, so I'll have to restrain myself. I'm too wary of the Dark Lord to risk taking such liberties with Luiglin. :D

I have found voting really, really hard. You are all too good! :)
So after much reading and thinking, this is my shortlist and my vote.

Shortlist:

Reflective Life
Brothers Obverse
The View from Here
Here’s Lookin’ At You
Depletion
The Legolas Concerto aka That Poncy Elf
Aidan

My vote became a difficult battle between PRISONCEPTION and Clean Sweep, with
PRISONCEPTION just claiming victory.

My Shortlist:

Depletion

To Know Thyself

The Princess and the Mirror

My vote goes to:

Clean Sweep

I haven't made many guesses and the ones I have made are most likely wrong. Anywho:

Here’s Lookin’ At You - Kerrybuchanan

Dialogue Without Voices – Cat's Cradle

To Know Thyself – ratsy

Clean Sweep – Juliana

The Damnation of Qaseem – Jo Zebedee

The Princess and the Mirror - Telford

My shortlist and *vote*:

Brothers Obverse
The View From Here
Translations
*What I Would To Be You*
Aidan
One Last Kiss
Mirror Of The Soul

Aaaand a few guesses:

Cold Justice - Mosaix
Reflective Life - Kerry
Brothers Obverse - Luiglin
The View From Here - Victoria
To Know Thyself - Perp
Translations - Telford
Aidan - Ashleyne
The Damnation of Qaseem - Chrispy
The Shadows Of Your Smile - Ratsy

Great guesses, ladies, but not a correct answer between you. Looking on the bright side, you're in excellent company.

A clue: One of my favourite stories, Aidan, was penned by someone who has won this challenge at least once.

Oh, and only one more day of voting left, so hop to it, people. It doesn't mean we have to stop the guessing at the same time though, if people want to keep it going.

Hi
A few guesses and my shortlist:
Reflective life - Ashleyne
Brothers Obverse - Cat's Cradle
Encapsulated Diffractions - Jastius
Dialogue without voices - Johnny Jet
Eyes of Fate - Juliana
To know thyself - Luiglin
The Lady in the Looking Glass - Ratsy
Translations - Will Wallace
Clean Sweep - Perp
The Legolas Concerto aka That Poncy Elf - Kerry
Aidan - Victoria
Prisonception - DG Jones

It was very difficult to choose between Encapsulated Diffractions, Prisonception and Brothers Obverse.
In the end my vote goes to Brothers Obverse - for a great idea. The imperfect hospital pass mirrored by the perfect fumble. Loved it

My shortlist -reason- Guess (why I guessed them)

Brothers Obvers -how we leave behind our better selves when in the thrall of desperation- Parson (for theme, but not outcome), Jo(setting and outcome), Hairbrain(Play of light in the shadows)

Here's Looking At You -how our instincts can dupe us into forgetting our purpose- Hex(tone)

I expect to be at least half wrong ;)

Hmm. My not too short list contains:- Cold Justice, Brothers Obverse, Here’s Lookin’ At You, Eyes of Fate, The Legolas Concerto, Aidan, One Last Kiss…and Satisfaction Guaranteed. Finally went for 'One Last Kiss'. Not quite ready with the deanonymisation, but I've prepared a little grid for guesses.

Now, everybody agrees that the voting/analysis phase is more time consuming than the actual writing and, as things are presently organised I end up doing this for the seventy five and the hundred words at the same time. Could we not consider running them staggered, from the middle of the month?

It was between Encapsulated diffractions, Aidan and PRISONCEPTION in the end... I really needed 3 votes. I chose Encapsulated diffractions because of the wonderful language and the silence that seemed to linger after reading - I love a disappearing act :)

I just went to the poll and found that its closed? I can't cast my vote?

I thought it closed tonight?

Not long for the voting, now. Can I suggest, Kerry, that although you close the voting on time you don't publish the list of authors for a couple of days after that? I find that whilst it takes some time to decide who to vote for it takes even longer to come up with my list of possible authors.

Umm.– I think it was somebody's first poll. Don't knock it until you've had one work exactly to your plan. Meanwhile, this time I'll make a list, as I don't know how to edit one, either.
