DISCUSSION -- June 2015 75-word Writing Challenge

Oh, yes, there are several of us who usually ride the clock all the way to the bell. :D I was actually early, by my standards. Although it was technically the last day, as it was after midnight last night. And TJ is riding even closer to the wire than usual, and starting to worry me.

VOTE

"Two for the Price of One" by marmalade.

I was astonished by how subtle and effective this story was. It was a lot easier to come up with my vote than my lists.

Howdy,
Thanks for the warm wishes guys and gals.
I was gone a very short time this go-round but in the mean-time Perp Man is Tim and the Zebra looks more like a Barred Rock chicken, my eyes are getting REAL bad I guess.
I'll have to read a few stories a day to catch up.
Bob

Thanks for the short, Victoria. Always a treat.
BTW, anyone seen TJ. 'Hey, your honor, where you at?' Scratches head while wandering off mumbling.
Oh, by the way, as usual honourables to to everyone but especially to: CC, Will, Bowler, Kerry, Beasty, Hope, Per, ah, Tim James, Victoria, Jo, Karn, Juliana, Moonbat (oh, soo close), Holland, StillLearning, HB, Bob Snr and Dusty. I could not in all conscience cut any deeper. And the gold star goes to Jastius. You got me by the heart with that one. Nice.

Loads I loved - Venusian Broon, Glen (got a good giggle here), Paul S, Victoria, Harebrain and Titanium Ti.

Three stood out for me (remember my shocking single vote in the 300? I'd have liked the 2 votes in my back pocket) - The Dusty Zebra, Mosaix (laughed out loud here) and Robert Mackay.

On a second read this morning, I went for Robert's parody of one of my favourite plays. At least I hope it is. Otherwise I've voted for a story where nothing happened and that I don't understand.... :)

Moonbat gets my vote.

My favourites were: luiglin, Cat’s Cradle, alchemist, Starbeast, Victoria Silverwolf, Cascade, farntfar, bedlamite, Moonbat, jastius, StilLearning.

75 words is two fifths of not very much to write a story in, so for me it is often what is not said that makes the difference. Moonbat's communication to alien invasion form, for me, had a huge story outside of the form itself. The committee that put it together; the summarised human reaction (work with us or watch out); the prospect of someone actually deleting where applicable in readiness to send; and, the sheer number of alien invasions we must have face to make this pro forma a benefit (or is that a double-bluff to the invading force). Rofl. 5 stars.

Parson – A failure transcends himself with a quick trip to the past in order to become something so much more.

Ursa – Sometimes the simple, easy life is not enough, what is really wanted is a challenge, to get away from it all and just have fun.

, Per, ah, Tim James, .

Sorry about this confusion, I'm sure we will all get used to it in the end :D and thanks for the mention telford. (Can't wait for the end of the voting so I can point out all the hidden things!)

I have voted, and wow what a month. I normally just click like now when people vote for me or shortlist my story but Glen was too nice for just a like, so Thank you Glen :)

I'm always amazed at how people read my stories, Victoria seems to read them as satirical and Glen just went full on back story on me, usually I'm just coming up with something silly but in a unique way. So thanks as always to the reviewers (one of whom I am loath to mention for he has gone to the dark side of real name - you know who you are!!) and thanks for any mentions. Also, I guess, thanks to everyone who takes the time to enter or read the stories, your efforts are appreciated.
Hmm, I'm getting a bit sentimental here better remedy that, so whatever....I'm like the wind.
