DISCUSSION -- June 2015 75-word Writing Challenge

Holland - An epic idea concisely told, how would inhabitants react to a very long rotation? Perhaps a bit like this?

Grins. Hard work putting it back; easier taking more away…

The Evil Chrispy.

I have to admit, I read the review and thought: "oh, he's probably just missed out Luiglin's story from earlier this month and getting round to it now."

Then I re-read Luiglin's story and just got confused. Maybe you should do this each month - get us to match the review to the story? A bit like the 100-worder on acid.

Moonbat -- A biting satire of red tape and bureaucracy.

Tim Kinder -- A grim account of the terrible necessities of warfare.

holland -- A darkly ironic tale of the unexpected.

marmalade -- An emotional story of the ultimate form of isolation.
.

I am highly honored to receive such a mention by last month's winner. Thank you. It means more to me than you can possible know.

marmalade – The passage of time goes unnoticed, and suddenly all that was known is different, changed or gone. Is it worth it?

Liking challenge entries:

There is, and hopefully a moderator will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it is to avoid the 'sheep effect'. In other words, people might be influenced to vote for the story with the most likes, assuming it must be the best story. I speak as one of the newbies who innocently liked an entry when they first came on here!

I suspect that innocence was quickly ruined by one of the Mods! Although, why anyone would be against the "sheep affect" is a mystery to me. I love a good mindless mob, more so when it grows into a lynch mob (assuming I'm not the prospect Lynchee (a new word I just made up (being the Lynchee does make for a great game of hide and seek)). So if anyone is up for some mindless mob activity, hook (sheep hook!) me in.

Or at least for a well motivated one.

Doesn't the definition of a 'mob' include the lack of anyone in charge? Though mobbity doesn't exclude a ringleader, an original instigator, by the time it is really in voice it becomes a sort of hive organism with many bodies and no noticeable brain.

Besides, in this case I prefer flaming torches and pitchforks to Rayguns (even capitalised).

Revolution eh? And we're not even halfway to the end of this months challenge! I am formally backing the 'groan' button idea, now where did I put that pitch fork?...
