DISCUSSION -- July 2015 75-word Writing Challenge

Three more new ones, I'll be kind. What are you sniggering at? I can be kind... sometimes. It keeps me dangerously mysterious and the witches love it.

Brian Rogers
An evil king, I like. I bet though he said he was annointed to Godhood by some weird fish woman in a lake who passed over a mystical fishing rod. Well I tell you know, she's called Elma, a gong farmer from Hesultub who gets those knock off rods on the cheap from me.

I've never been one for human flesh but I've always been one to keep up appearances. You have to maintain standards these days. I mean what's the point of being evil if you don't act like it?

Aha... is Nick still pulling that trick? I just love that demon's work. So simple and yet so stylish, great old school devilment. He could teach the imps of today a thing or two about soul shredding.

StilLearning -- In order to avoid being overwhelmed by the evils in the world, we practice a sort of deception on ourselves by ignoring them. Although this may keep us from sinking into despair, it may also prevent us from solving life's problems.

Glen -- If the only thing we have to fear is fear itself, then we are deceived by the frightening appearance of things that cannot harm us. But what if the threat is real?

Moonbat -- Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, as well as the most subtle form of deception. At some point, the imitator becomes the imitated.

Let me muse a while and contemplate life...

...he screamed well. Pity he broke so soon.

Cthulhu, such a prankster. I can see him now regaling the joke to Azathoth, tentacles all a quiver in laughter. I like evil through laughter; it's like watching a Adam Sandler movie... in reverse.

Glen
Belief versus reality. I enjoy this one. Belief is all well and good, it's like a cozy blanket on a cold dark night. However, reality is better because you may have a cozy blanket of belief but that will never stop the reality of a two-handed axe to the head.

Moonbat

The answer is simple... conquer the world and then impose your own word limit. Why make life difficult?

I was beginning to think I'd fail to produce anything for any of the challenges this month, but almost a year on Chrons and I've managed to keep my perfect record (so far). What a relief. I love the challenges, both official and unofficial, but Life has been getting in the way an awful lot recently. Still, I could hardly fail to enter the month where I chose the theme, could I? It would look as though I'd found it too difficult! :giggle:

David Evil Overlord -- In many religious traditions, deception is the primary tool of the Adversary. However, even these actions may, in the end, be part of the plan of the Adversary's great Enemy.

Kerrybuchanan -- Often deceit comes in the form of something very attractive. It has been wisely said that one should not judge a book by its cover.

Time to write again. Norman crack the the fingers on that gnome please so Minion can get typing...

You see we get these titles for a reason. Satan is Prince of Lies and a well deserved moniker it is as this shows. He often turns up at Emma and Dave's, with a bottle of Thunderbird and a jumbo bag of nuts. My advice don't ever play a drunken game of Truth or Dare with him.

Kerrybuchanan
Now I have a problem here and it could be quite a delicate one. On one hand they sound absolutely adorable but... and this is the huge storm giant in the corner of the room throwing around thunderbolts and tearing off mountain peaks... are they a lady or a gentleman?

Great entries, but we need more! :) We had 51 stories by this time last month, and 41 as of today. Hopefully that mad rush at creation will take us well over the 50-story mark by midnight Thursday.

On a side note, I missed having a The Judge story in last month's challenge. I hope she'll have the time to enter this month...and I hope everything is well with her. :) Looking forward to the re-read through for the voting! CC
